- SEASON FOUR: OVER. Let's run it down. If you haven't watched it, firstly what
are you doing with your life, and secondly watch it
all
here.
Episode 401: Our best bloopers, bleeps, and bodyslams, covering
everything from our last blooper episode (way back at ep. 126) through the
episode AFTER this one. Because we're from the future.
Episode 402: This was a very international episode, featuring matches
from two countries that aren't the country we live in. First up was a big tag
match from 3-2-1 Battle back in February, with Fur & Loathing of Scott Henson &
Kaden Talbain defending the ISUXDIX Tag Titles against the newly formed duo of
ISUXDIX Champion Daniel Makabe and Drew Sarian, calling themselves the Rain City
Coalition, almost formed by necessity to combat the forces of Fur & Loathing. In
ISUXDIX's last trek to Seattle for 3-2-1, Henson and Sarian met in singles
competition, with Sarian finally getting the elusive big win over Henson,
forcing him to tap out to his Lion Tamer, now renamed the Tiger Tamer in honor
of that victory. So Henson was certainly looking for revenge. Sarian of course
has beef with Talbain as well, due to Talbain costing him the ISUXDIX Title at
BDWU2. And Talbain of course quickly lost that title to none other than Daniel
Makabe, so there's unfinished business there as well. The match was an excellent
back and forth contest with several close calls on both sides, but the end came
when Sarian again had Henson locked in the Tiger Tamer, and Kaden Talbain,
unbeknownst to Sarian, tapped his OWN hand to simulate Henson tapping out,
causing Sarian to release the hold thinking he had won. Talbain then took Sarian out of the match,
leaving Henson and Makabe. Henson set Makabe up for the Burning Bright (Henson's
new ripcord variation on the CRITICAL!), but Makabe countered with a headbutt;
however, Henson, after being momentarily dazed, was able to complete the move
and hit the lariat for the pinfall over the champion. Post-match, Henson
demanded a title match, but other factors would come into play before Henson
would get his shot at Makabe. Next up, also from 3-2-1 Battle, was a battle
royal for a shot at the 3-2-1 Title, featuring Scott Henson, Drew Sarian, and
Yakuza J from the ISUXDIX contingent. Perhaps the biggest story of the battle royal
was of the two biggest people in it, Yakuza J and El Chango Blanco, despite
neither winning. Every showdown they had set the crowd on fire. Yakuza was able
to eliminate Chango and make it to the final 4 of the battle royal, but ended up
being eliminated by eventual winner Mr. Fitness. Perhaps this Yakuza/Chango
encounter will pay off in a later episode? SPOILER: IT WILL. IN EPISODE 409.
Finally on this episode we cover Daniel Makabe's solo trip to England, where
he teamed with a fellow Dan (Van Virtigo) to take on two Brits who are no strangers
to the likes of ISUXDIX wrestlers, McGoodwin of Alex McConnell and Chris Goodwin. After some
shenanigans, Team Dan was able to get the win with a snap German Suplex by
Makabe into an Enzui Roaring Elbow by DVV.
Episode 403: The first of three episodes dedicated to our trip to NYE4 in
upstate New York. While not rolling 6 deep like last year, ISUXDIX still had
very strong representation with the quartet of Daniel Makabe, Scott Henson,
Kaden Talbain, and Mercury. Like last year, it was a three day show, but unlike
last year, it decided to pour rain on the first day. Only Mercury was able to get
his match done in time: an elimination 3 way between him, Alex Cross, and
Florida's Drake Braylor, which was won by Cross. The scheduled Scott
Henson/Daniel Makabe vs. Mike Damage/Ian Finnegan tag, and Kaden Talbain vs.
Marky Lectric III both did not happen. We are making these a priority for any
2015 travels. The other match aired on this episode was from the second day of
the show, with Daniel Makabe taking on Brad Rush in a non-title match. After a
grueling 27 minutes where Makabe all but destroyed Rush's leg, Rush was able to
come back and hit his Diving Enzui Lariat for the win.
Episode 404: We had the other two matches from the second day of NYE4 on
this episode, both involving US Titles. First up was Mercury challenging The
Russ for the GBYWN US Title in a 4 Way also involving Ian Finnegan and Omega.
The Russ hit a Braineater on Finnegan and looked to get the win, but at the same
Mercury had Omega in the Ankle Lock, tapping him out at the very same time that
Russ pinned Finnegan. This dual win prompted a restart by the referee, with Russ
immediately pinning Mercury with a schoolboy and retaining his title. Next was a gauntlet match
for the GBYWN US Tag Team Titles, with champions The Flamboyz (Andrew Sellers &
Bolt Bernett) being the last entrants. The second last entrants were also
champions, ISUXDIX Tag Team Champions Fur & Loathing to be precise. Henson and
Talbain entered to face Joey Tornado and Jack Diesel, with the winners going on
to face The Flamboyz for the titles. However, feeling their own championships
had been slighted, Henson and Talbain decreed that they are putting their titles
up in the gauntlet right now against Tornado and Diesel. Fur & Loathing were able to retain
after a combo Burning Bright/Deadlift German/CRITICAL! Championship Edition on
Joey Tornado. That brought out the Flamboyz for the finals of the gauntlet.
After a great deal of craziness, including a Superkick Party (TM Young Bucks)
unlikely to be rivalled, Henson hit Andrew Sellers with the CRITICAL!
Championship Edition, the very move that just got him the win over Joey Tornado,
however Sellers turned it into a crucifix pin and was able to keep Henson down
for the 3. In addition to retaining the GBYWN US Tag Team Titles, the Flamboyz
believed they had also just won the ISUXDIX Tag Team Titles. However, Henson
delivered the bad news that those titles were ONLY up against Tornado and
Diesel, not them. So once again Henson and Talbain weasel (tiger? wolf?) their
way into keeping the titles, much as when they first won the titles at BDWU1 without Talbain even being involved in the match.
Episode 405: This was the third and final day of NYE4. Things started off
with the
1st
Semi-Annual Come-As-You-Are Ground-Is-Lava Catwalk-Is-Not-Lava 20-Man Battle
Royal Open Invitational Cup Challenge. The initial 20 men actually narrowed down to the only
two ISUXDIX wrestlers in the match: Kaden Talbain and Mercury. After hitting a
Flying Elbow, Talbain foolishly went for a pinfall, only for Mercury to kick out
with such force that it propelled Talbain over the top rope, winning the match
for Mercury and the Cup to go with it. The only other ISUXDIX match that day
featured all four ISUXDIX members (Makabe, Henson, Talbain, Mercury) taking on
a team of GBYWN All-Stars (St. Vengeance, Eric Douglas, Kombination Kombat Kid,
and Sam Jude). The added twist was that Daniel Makabe is of course the ISUXDIX
Champion and Sam Jude of England's RCWA happens to be the GBYWN World
Heavyweight Champion, so the stipulation that was made was that whoever scores
the pinfall wins the other team's world championship, regardless of if the
actual champion is pinned. We literally don't have the time or space to list
everything that happened in this match. It was over 30 minutes of absolute
pillar to post action. Highlights included quadruple apron powerbombs by DIX-1
International (the unofficial name of ISUXDIX's touring company), quadruple
dives by Team GBYWN, an insane Dan Spike by Daniel Makabe on St. Vengeance off
the roof of the shed onto the catwalk, and many more too numerous to list. With
the other six men taken out, it came down to Sam Jude and Scott Henson
(ostensibly defending Makabe's title). They traded some very close nearfalls and
eventually Henson overpowered him, finishing off with a CRITICAL! right into a
pin (basically a standing CRITICAL! Championship Edition), to not only keep the ISUXDIX Title on the ISUXDIX side, but to win the GBYWN World Heavyweight Title
for himself, Henson's first singles title win since 2007. He went on to cut an
impassioned promo challenging all comers and inviting everyone to BDWU3 in
August. Any of the eight men involved in this match will tell you that it is
easily one of the best matches of any of their careers. Also a big thanks to
Marcus Centofante, Crucible, and whole NY crew for putting on another amazing show,
getting a ring, building an AWESOME entrance and ramp, housing us, and generally
being great guys.
Interim: In the time between NYE4 in June and BDWU3 in August, several
things transpired. If you've watched the BDWU3 promos, you know what we're talking
about. But if not, we'll fill you in. It started with Daniel Makabe announcing
the format of the show: a 2-day tournament where he is putting up his own ISUXDIX Title. He also challenged Scott Henson to do the same thing with his
GBYWN Title, which Henson eventually agreed to. At the same time, Drew Sarian
questioned the name "ISUXDIX" itself and suggested perhaps returning to the
original VCW name, as it was getting harder for him to tell his friends what he
does for a living. Upon finally realizing the double entendre of ISUXDIX, Makabe
agreed, as did Yakuza J. Henson and Kaden Talbain, presumably just to be
contrarian, insisted the name remain ISUXDIX. And thus in addition to the
tournament, a match was set to determine the name of the show, either the
scheduled ISUXDIX Big Dick Wrestling Universe 3 or a return of VCW vs. The
World, pitting Makabe, Sarian, and Yakuza on the VCW side against Henson,
Talbain, and a third partner (who ended up being the returning Lenny D). Later,
with all this VCW talk, final VCW Triple Crown Champion Kaden Talbain took it
upon himself to revive the title that was retired 5 years ago and defend it in
the tournament himself. So now the tournament would see a winner come out with
an unprecedented 3 world titles. Now you're up to speed.
Episode 406: The opener of the show (though it was not scheduled to be)
was the 6-man just discussed to determine the naming rights of the show. What
started as the opening promo very quickly turned into the match that was
scheduled for the main event of Day 1. It was six of the most iconic names in VCW/ISUXDIX history, so you can imagine all the feuds boiling over in this one.
There's already the ongoing issue between all four members of Fur & Loathing and the Rain City
Coalition, and now add in Yakuza J and Lenny, igniting an old rivalry between
them, and of course one between Yakuza and Scott Henson as well. Midway through
the match, the top rope snapped and broke on a Cactus Clothesline that Lenny D
gave Daniel Makabe, which surely threw a wrench into all of the participants'
various plans. But they carried on and produced an excellent match regardless.
Lenny D went for his apron-to-floor powerbomb on Yakuza, but Yakuza countered
with a huracanrana, incapacitating both of them. Next, Scott Henson and Drew
Sarian tried to kill each other, as they have been wont to do in their three
previous matches between BDWU2 and now, and ended up taking each other out as
well. That just left Daniel Makabe and Kaden Talbain. Makabe nearly got the win
with the same move he beat Talbain with for the title last year, a re-reversal
of Talbain cutting back on a Jumbo Tsuruta Fuck You attempt, but Talbain was
able to kick out this time. Makabe then went for his new go-to, the Armtrap
German Suplex, but Talbain reversed and hit his Outside Cradle into a back
bridge and got the win, thus officially naming the show it's originally
scheduled title, ISUXDIX BDWU3. Also on the episode we had a 3-2-1 Battle & CBW
mixed tag, with I-Gore and RTD getting the win over Zaykan and Hooded Cobra with
a Telepathic Chokeslam, and Draven Lawless falling to his trainee, El Chango Blanco, via a Tombstone.
Episode 407: This episode was all the first round matches of the
tournament. The format of the tournament is that the 3 world champions (Makabe,
Henson, Talbain) would have byes into the semifinals. Thus, the first round
would be 5 qualifying matches, 3 of whom would face the 3 champions in the
semifinals, and 2 of whom would face each other in the fourth semifinal match.
Then the 4 semifinal winners would meet in a 4 way elimination final for all the
belts. All of this has led to what is now being called the greatest 13-person
tournament of all time (in any sport). First up was Ryan Brodie, who has been
gunning for Daniel Makabe's ISUXDIX Title since before NYE4, defeating Cole
Crazy with a double-underhook brainbuster to earn that shot at Makabe in the semifinals. Next was Chris Frank
defeating a returning Nick Price (who has been shirking his anger management
classes) with an amazing tree of woe into a head-in-the-pants piledriver to
advance. The third match was England's Chris Goodwin taking on Zeus McFly in an
agreed-upon no disqualification match. This stipulation, McFly's speciality, may
have come back to bite him as Goodwin was able to hit his signature M-1 on McFly
onto an open chair to advance to face Kaden Talbain for the VCW Title in the
semis. Drew Sarian then defeated Omega in a 5-minute sprint with a huge
Superkick to advance to meet Scott Henson for the second time in as many days,
but this time for the GBYWN Title. In the final first round match, Mercury got
what can only be described as a huge upset win over Yakuza J, tapping him out
with the Ankle Lock to advance to meet Chris Frank in a rematch from NYE3 last
year in the semifinals.
Episode 408: This had the four semifinal matches of the appropriately
titled "Tournament for Everything", three of which were title matches. We
started fast and furious with Kaden Talbain facing Chris Goodwin for the VCW
Triple Crown. In one of both wrestlers' best matches ever, Talbain beat Goodwin
after reversing an O'Connor Roll into a Chaos Theory-style rolling German Suplex
of his own, getting his first defense of a title he won 5 years ago. Next was
Drew Sarian, entering in his glowstick-laced jacket, taking on Scott Henson for the GBYWN
World Heavyweight Title. Both men left nothing on the table, hitting each other
with everything they had for 15 minutes. In the end, Sarian dazed Henson with a
Superkick, and then KILLED him with a second one for the win and the GBYWN
Title. With this, his third different world title (VCW, ISUXDIX, GBYWN), Sarian
joins a very exclusive club of Scott Henson himself (VCW, ESW, GBYWN), Daniel
Makabe (VCW, ESW, ISUXDIX), Kaden Talbain (VCW, ESW, ISUXDIX), and the eventual
winner of the tournament. Sarian's win would be the only title change of the
semifinals. Next was the one semifinal match without a title at stake, with
Chris Frank taking on Mercury. Mercury was able to get some revenge for Frank's
win the year prior at NYE3, tapping him out with the Ankle Lock en route to the
finals and continuing his hot streak after the big win over Yakuza J the day
prior. The last semifinal match was Daniel Makabe defending the ISUXDIX Champion
Uv Men: Fighting And Grappling against newfound rival Ryan Brodie. In the
longest match of the semifinals, Brodie tried to dismantle Makabe's leg, but
Makabe proved why he was champion, defeating Brodie with his Armtrap German
Suplex (bridging only on his good leg!) and retaining the title. That leaves
Makabe, Kaden Talbain, Drew Sarian, and Mercury, in what turned out to be an
all-ISUXDIX final for all the titles despite all the outside talent in the
tournament. Also on the show, an all-CBW 3 way, with returning favourites Zaykan
and RTD, as well as the debuting Punk Rock, who actually got the win, pinning
Zaykan with a running lariat.
Episode 409: The season finale featured a crazy 6-man opener with an
ISUXDIXer and two Washingtonians on each side. The team of Zeus McFly, Cole
Crazy, and Hooded Cobra defeated Nick Price, I-Gore, and Draven Lawless via a
McFly powerbomb on Nick Price. Also notable is that McFly performed his (in)famous
Naked Moonsault in clear view of a very young child in the audience, which in
theory now makes him a sex offender. Next up was quite a treat, with two blast
from the past LWO members wrestling for the first time in years. They didn't
show much rust, though, as Mista Blaq defeated Pooder with an insane Blaqout 2.0
(fireman's carry to spinning Rock Bottom). We hope this wasn't a one-time thing
for either of them and they come back next time. In the semi-main, stemming from
a rivalry borne from the battle royal in Seattle back in episode 402, was Yakuza
J taking on El Chango Blanco. This began as a style battle, as Chango, a black
belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, was surprised to see Yakuza come out in his judo gi.
After his judo didn't serve him as well as he had hoped, Yakuza tossed off the
gi and resorted to good old fashioned pro wrestling. Chango's mat prowess was
too much for Yakuza on this occasion though, as Chango got the tapout with
Chango's Choice, a very intricate jiu jitsu hold. That meant it was time for the
main, with the three world champions of Kaden Talbain, Drew Sarian, and Daniel
Makabe, as well as Mercury in the fourth spot, faced off in an elimination match
for all the marbles. Perhaps surprisingly, Daniel Makabe was the first one gone,
succumbing to Kaden Talbain's Darkness Buster, giving Talbain his second pinfall
win over Makabe in as many days. Talbain then tried to do the very same to
perennial rival Drew Sarian, but Mercury pushed Talbain out of the way and got
the pin himself. This left only Talbain and Mercury. Talbain believed the third
time was the charm as he went to take his final opponent out with the Darkness
Buster again, but Mercury was able to kick out. Mercury then locked on the move
that has served him better than any this weekend, the Ankle Lock, and after
several failed attempts to escape and reverse by Talbain, he was forced to tap
out, giving Mercury not only his first world title ever, but his first THREE
world titles. In an emotional promo afterward, Mercury decided to exercise his
power as champion for the first time ever, unifying the VCW and ISUXDIX titles
into one title (legally the GBYWN had to be kept separate otherwise he would
have unified all three), and proclaiming that even though this ended up being an
ISUXDIX show, everything going forward will be VCW because VCW is BACK. He
brought Scott Henson to the ring, despite them not seeing eye to eye with him,
who he thanked for everything over the years. Henson questioned whether this was
our last show, but then realized that next year is a year of anniversaries: the
15 year anniversary of VCW, the 10 year anniversary of Supercard and the first
VCW vs. The World (aka BYF8), and if the 3
BDWU shows are retroactively made VCW vs. The Worlds, then that makes next year
#10. All of this was too good not to do, so next year, probably Labour Day
weekend again, will be VCW vs. The World 10: Supercard 2: The Last One. Things
seemed to be over, but Henson then added that he would be damned if Mercury was the
champion going into that show and shocked the crowd by attacking him from behind
and demandeing the
ref ring the bell for an impromptu title match. Henson immediately killed
Mercury with a CRITICAL! but Mercury kicked out. Mercury then reversed a Burning
Bright into probably the first Dragon Suplex he's ever hit in his life,
following up with a Deep End, a World's Strongest Slam, and a second Deep End
right into a pin to beat him, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that Mercury is
legit.
- We've even had some goings-on SINCE the end of the season. Newly crowned GBYWN
World Champion Mercury was flown to one of the GBYWN's biggest shows of the
year, BXW Goodbye in Allentown, PA, where he was required to defend the title
(but not the newly unified VCW Title). On Day 1 he retained the title (though
losing by countout) against St. Vengeance. He then retained again on Day 2 in an
elimination 3 way against Chris Mula and Chris Segrest. Mercury thought his work
was done, but near the end of the day, recently transplanted Floridian Henry
Rotten won a gauntlet match for a GBYWN Title shot that was to be claimed at
BXW's next supershow in May, but he called out Mercury on the spot and defeated
him for the title, bringing the title back to the United States for the first
time in 5 champions (the previous 4 of course being England's Sam Jude, and then
Scott Henson, Drew Sarian, and Mercury). It was unfortunate Mercury lost the
GBYWN Title, but he remains the unified VCW Champion, tentatively being called
the VCW Champion Uv Men: Fighting And Grappling, in an amalgamation of the two
titles unified to create it.
- And we have more coming up yet! This very weekend, "Big Cat" Scott Henson is
returning to Beyond Wrestling in Rhode Island after a two year absence. And the
very next weekend, Henson, along with Kaden Talbain, Daniel Makabe, and Drew
Sarian return to 3-2-1 Battle in what will be be the first in hopefully a string
of shows there. Two very important matches to be had here, firstly with Daniel
Makabe taking on Scott Henson in what WOULD have been an ISUXDIX Title match had
it happened sooner after their tag match in Seattle in February, but the lack of
title now involved probably won't stop the two from still trying to kill each
other. And second we have Drew Sarian taking on Kaden Talbain, who not only
screwed him out of the ISUXDIX Title back at BDWU2, but also took him out of the
tournament finals at BDWU3, causing him to lose the GBYWN Title. So there is a
major score to settle there.
- Big ups to VBW (http://www.vbwonline.com)
for letting us work with them the past few months, as well as continuing to in
the future.
You can see all the full VBW episodes on their page, as well as the results in
our Results section. And we may do a "Best of VCW in VBW" bonus episode.
- There are two very cool posts to check out on our Message Board (link on the
left). The first concerns the Top 10 matches (and sometimes more) of every
significant VCW player, found
here. The second is all about VCW wrestlers' career milestones (100th/200th
matches, total matches, etc.), found
here.
- Haven't seen all our great promos recently? Get 'em
here.
- We have COMPLETELY redone our Win/Loss section to
make it much easier to read and find the stats you want. It took FOREVER, so
please check it out. Additionally, everything else is updated too, from Roster
to Title History to Results. You may also notice that due to the revival of VCW,
the ISUXDIX spraypaint is now gone from this page as well as our message board.
Enjoy!
