- The 2006 VCW Awards are now up in the Info section. Check 'em out if you care.
- With that finished, pretty much the only thing on anyone's mind is securing a
new (or the old) venue. So as soon as we know something, you will.

- You wanna talk media? We can talk media. Remember when we promised you a bunch
of commentated matches in Septemeber/October? Well, we didn't finish them in
September/October. But you know what? We did now. And there's a lot of 'em. Do
some math:
Before: 42 VCW Matches, 15 "On the Road" Matches, 3 Full Shows
Now: 92 VCW Matches, 50 "On the Road" Matches, 4 Full Shows
Some quick calculations will show that is... an assload of matches. We've added
pretty much every good VCW match from March 13th '05 until now, just about EVERY "On
the Road" match we've had, as well as the full Canada Day 2006 show. So go on,
download a few. Download them all. Try to kill our bandwidth. We dare ya.

- So I guess you figure you deserve an update, huh? We had actually started
writing one or two updates during December, but December's a busy month, and
they never got done. So first and foremost, let's get to the December results.
When we last left you, Daniel Makabe had just won the Canadian Title at Best of
the Rest. December 3 saw him and Allan Creasy bragging about their
accomplishments, as well as Creasy adopting Makabe's straightedge philosophies.
This continued until they were interrupted by the surprise return of Ruckus, who
had been gone for over 2 months at this point. Ruckus tossed Creasy a beer, only
for Creasy to make to attempt to catch it. When Ruckus went to pick it up,
Creasy grabbed him and hit a Powerbomb onto his knee. A Makabe/Creasy attack on
Ruckus ensued, until Scott Henson ran in to chase them off and challenge them to
a match against himself and Ruckus. So in the span of a few short months, Daniel
Makabe had made himself the manager of the Newton Boys (Ruckus & Creasy), became
an active wrestling partner of them, and ousted Ruckus from the group, making
himself Creasy's primary tag partner. What a shit. In the tag match, after
taking out Henson, Makabe & Creasy hit the Jagerbomb on Ruckus for the win, a
move that Ruckus & Creasy had invented. Makabe & Creasy renamed it the
non-alcoholic Shirley Temple, to better conform to their ideals. Also on the
show, the unlikely team of Zeus McFly and Mercury took on Yakuza J and Nick
Price. Mercury got the upset pin on Yakuza J after a schoolboy and Price wasn't
there to make the save. This led to some words between Yakuza and Price after
the match. Mercury and McFly actually worked very well as a team, and as a
result of this match, entered themselves into the upcoming V-1 Tag Climax. Next
up was Special K, who had a hard time dealing with Senor Cerveza, who both
vomitted and urinated during the match due to excessive drunkenness. We also
learned that Adam Silva is no more, but Wigga T is alive and well, and C-walking
his way back into our hearts. On December 9, Nick Price and Yakuza J had better
success as a team, defeating Daniel Makabe and Allan Creasy. However, Nick Price
ended up getting the pin on Makabe after Yakuza J hit the Trapper Keeper on him,
so Yakuza felt that Nick stole "his pin." Nick, of course, did not see the
problem, seeing as they won, and that's all that matters. In the main, Scott
Henson used the highly effective Slowly Brainbuster to put away Senor Cerveza.
The next day, December 10, VCW presented "1, 2, 3, 4, Get Your Woman on the
Floor", a show in which all matches were 4-count matches instead of 3-count
matches, leading to confused wrestlers and referees alike. Canadian Champion
Daniel Makabe pinned Scott Henson in a 3 Way Dance that also included Yakuza
after Allan Creasy interfered and helped Makabe hit the Shirley Temple on
Henson. Nick Price made his first defense of the Triple Crown after winning it
in October from Scott Henson. He defeated Special K in a good match, and though
he was defeated, Special K can now say he has pinned the current champion for
several 3-counts (due to the 4-count rules of the match). If he plays his cards
right using this logic, he could probably finagle a rematch. On December 16,
Daniel Makabe made his first, and as yet only, defense of the Canadian Title
against Blood Money. Being a couple of jerks, they each tried to out-cheat the
other, with Makabe coming out on top after ducking a chain shot by Money and
hitting one of his own. All kinds of shit went down in the main event 6-man tag
between Special K/Mercury/Scott Henson and Allan Creasy/Nick Price/Yakuza J.
Henson and Creasy brawled out of the match, as no four ropes could contain their
hatred. Special K got a surprise pin on Yakuza J after reversing a Northern
Lights Bomb. This once again led to words between Yakuza and Nick Price, but
this time the words turned to blows, as Nick Price attacked Yakuza J and hit the
Busaiku Knee on him, screaming that even though he was younger and less
experienced than Yakuza, that Yakuza should still respect Price as the #1 guy in
the promotion. December 23 saw the Newton Boys Deluxe (Daniel Makabe & Allan
Creasy) attack Ruckus in the middle of the opening promo, again to be saved by
Scott Henson. This time, however, Ruckus would not be able to wrestle later in
the night in the scheduled Henson/Ruckus vs. Makabe/Creasy rematch from December
3. While attending to Ruckus, Henson vowed he would find a replacement partner
for the tag match. When it came time for the match, Henson entered alone and was
immediately double-teamed by his opponents. However, the lights went out, and
when they came back on, Ryan Briggs was in the middle of the ring in Sabu-esque
fashion, making his surprise return. Henson handled much of the match himself,
and when he made the big tag to Briggs, Briggs shockingly turned on Henson and
hit the Game's End on him. It turns out the Newton Boys and Briggs had set
Henson up from the start, and this was the proverbial lump of coal in Henson's
stocking this year (as Makabe said to Henson post-match). The main event was
Nick Price making his second defense of the Triple Crown, taking on Zeus McFly.
Price showed a more aggressive edge, and in fact lost the match by DQ (but
retained his title) for hitting McFly with a chair. After the match, Blood Money
ran in to aid Price in a post-match beatdown on McFly. Chicho then ran in,
looking to make the save; however, he turned around and hit the Canadian
Destroyer on McFly, realigning with Blood Money, in a Bloods/Crips union. If
you've been paying attention to what you just read, you'll notice some big-time
matches stemming from the events of December, scheduled to culminate at the
"Main Event of 2006" on December 30, namely Yakuza J vs. Nick Price, Daniel
Makabe vs. Ruckus, Allan Creasy vs. Scott Henson, and Blood Money/Chicho vs.
Zeus McFly/Mercury. HOWEVER, for the first time in over two years, we found
ourselves without a ring, so December 23 ended up being our last show for 2006,
and still our last show as of the date of this writing, in fact. On the bright
side, it looks like we'll know something about new locations (or even the old
location, in fact) in the next week or so. So hopefully we'll be back soon.
- And when we do come back, we've got some very big stuff planned. First off,
we'll be doing a show with all the aforementioned matches, entitled "The Main
Event of 2007", logic be damned. The week after that, VCW will host it's first
ever 2-day triple shot, with shows on a Saturday afternoon and night and a show
the afternoon of the Sunday the next day. The two Saturday shows will comprise
the first and second halves of the V-1 Tag Climax, and the Sunday show will have
the finals. The week after THAT, we'll have Survival of the Illest 2007, with
the winner getting a guaranteed Canadian Title shot (which has been an
unofficial prize the past two years). Then on March 24 & 25, VCW hosts "VCW vs.
The World 4: Reals", which is shaping up to be ridiculous and awesome. Stay
tuned.
