- Sweet fancy Moses, we did
the Scramble.
- After doing the pre-show intro, Scott Henson explained what the deal was with
his announcement after the 100th Show that this was the last "Hot Shit" Scott
Henson match that there was going to be. You see, the Scramble had been booked
for the 101st show, where Henson planned on "redebuting", but the Scramble was
pushed back two shows, forcing Henson to wrestling just as Scott Henson for two
shows, and basically making everyone wonder what the fuck was going on. But
finally, with the Scramble on and the stage set, Henson explained that "Hot
Shit" had run its course and that a new Scott Henson was needed. He discussed
how VCW are a bunch of Fun Athletic Guys (F.A.G.'s), and how some are more in
one direction than that other. For example, guys like Psychotic Kid are crazy
athletic. But only Scott Henson is crazy fun. And thus "Crazy Fun" Scott Henson
was born.
- We were short one of the scheduled participants for the Scramble, Drake Dredd,
so his replacement was decided in the opening match featuring OCW stars Ryan
Rage and Tiger J (with kickass new mask!). The smaller Tiger J worked over
Rage's arm for much of the match, possibly looking for the submission victory.
Rage's size advantage proved too much, though, and the took the win with a Frog
Splash, earning a covetted slot in the Scramble. Next was a rematch from the
100th Show, with Red Money taking on Lil' Chicho. Chicho was looking for revenge
after coming up on the short end last time. This was another good match between
the two, and they are definitely two to watch out for in VCW in the future. Lil'
Chicho lost his footing and slipped when going for his Springboard Crossbody,
which was disappointing as hell, because that move is the FUCKING BEST. When
Money went for his Money in the Bank, which got him the win last time, Chicho
was able to backflip out of it right into an Inverted DDT and got the pin. The
series between these two is now tied 1-1. We'll likely see the rubber match
between these two in the near future. Then onto the Scramble. As promised, the
teams were picked Grade 5 Dodgeball style. The new (and possibly improved)
"Crazy Fun" Scott Henson and Lenny D were the captains. Henson won the coin
toss, and picked the man who beat him on the 100th Show, Daniel Makabe. Lenny's
first round draft pick was Jason Drake, the longest running Canadian Champion
ever. Henson came back and picked the current Canadian Champion, Psychotic Kid.
Lenny then picked current Tag Team Champion Ruckus. Henson then picked Ryan
Rage, who seemed to have been suffering from an identity crisis, as he was now
dressed as Mokay Lee. And those are your teams. Oh wait, no one picked Zeus
McFly. After much deliberation, Lenny agreed to take him. After numerous dives,
spots, earthquakes, and much more, Scott Henson and Lenny D were in the ring.
Henson had Lenny set up for the You Sunk My Battleship, but Lenny flipped out of
it. Henson still had position to hit a Diamond Dust, but Lenny fought out of
that too. Lenny went for a Top-rope Makura Cutter, but Henson blocked that and
was able to NAIL a Top-rope Brainbuster. The rest of Henson's team then took out
Ruckus and Jason Drake, leaving Zeus McFly all alone and in a whole mess o'
trouble. Ryan Rage/Mokay Lee planted him with the Mexicutioner (DVD2K1), then
Psychotic Kid hit the Suicide Lionsault, then Henson and Makabe picked him up
and drilled him with the Excommunication. All four members of the team then
pinned Zeus Nation of Domination-style, and that was all she wrote. Side note:
the unoffically voted upon "Spot of the Match" was Daniel Makabe's Top-rope
Superplex on Ruckus ONTO Zeus McFly. Serious shit.

- Happy Valentines,
motherfuckers. We were going to have the Scramble (again) and we didn't (again),
but Lenny D wasn't there because he has a girlfriend. Thus the aptly titled
show, "Lenny D's Not Here Because He Has a Girlfriend." However, we did have a
nice little show, with not a bad match on the card. We opened up with Scott
Henson taking on one half of the Tag Team Champions in Ruckus. Henson attacked
the arm, while Ruckus attacked the leg. It soon turned into the battle of Nagata
Locks, with Ruckus going for the Nagata Lock I on Henson's legs, and Henson
going for the Nagata Lock II (a.k.a. Crossface of SCOTT) on Ruckus's arm. Henson
even managed to get on a Nagata Lock III at one point, but could not get the
tapout. In the end, Henson ducked a clothesline by Ruckus, hit a Complete Shot,
and floated over directly into the Crossface of SCOTT for the win. Next was a
match featuring two of the people who were in the two fastest-paced matches on
the 100th Show, Jason Drake and Psychotic Kid. Drake was looking for an
unprecedented 12th defense, and Psychotic Kid was finally able to claim the
title shot that he secured by winning Best of the Rest 3. Much like their
respective matches at Show #100, this match was all action once again. Drake
went with the same strategy that got him successful defense number 11 against
Ruckus: go hard, go fast, and try to beat him quick. This, in fact, proved to be
Drake's downfall. PK was more than up to the task of taking all the offense that
Drake threw at him, and was more than happy to dish out some of his own. Kid
couldn't get the win with his Thunder Fire Powerbomb, nor his Frog Splash.
However, he got Drake up for what looked to be another Thunder Fire Powerbomb,
but he flipped him all the way over into a DDT and got the win, thus ending
Jason Drake's nearly 10 MONTH~! title reign, the longest in VCW's history.
Psychotic Kid is your new two-time VCW Canadian Champion. We should really try
to find the title belt one of these days. The semi-main was a rematch from
1/19/04, with Daniel Makabe taking on Jimmy McGimmick in a UWFv Rules Match.
Both men traded holds early, with McGimmick in control. Makabe was able to take
a major chunk out of McGimmick's points with two of his patented German
Suplexes. McGimmick came right back with a couple of knockdowns on strikes. With
both men down to 3 points apiece, they traded striking flurries, and as they
both went for simultaneous low kicks, they smacked shins, resulting in both
falling and being counted for knockdowns. Thus, this took off the remaining 3
points for both men. Your result, a Double TKO. The main event was a six-man tag
that turned out quite nicely. The teams were Scott Henson, Jason Drake, and Zeus
McFly, taking on Daniel Makabe, Psychotic Kid, and Ruckus. It was very evenly
matched, with both sides getting in their shots. At one point, Daniel Makabe had
Zeus McFly in a Boston Crab, and Psychotic Kid hit an INSANE Slingshot Spiral
Tap on McFly. Not long after, Psychotic Kid had McFly in Styles Clash position,
and you just sort of got the feeling that something bad was going to happen. And
it did. Instead of falling flat out, PK dropped to his knees, completely
torching McFly's neck. He's lucky it's not broken. The finish came when Jason
Drake was able to exact some revenge on PK, hitting the Coca Cola Classic
(Top-rope Pedigree) for the pin. But you know that's not enough. Drake wants
that title back.
- All signs point to Scramble next week (never said that before, eh?). Lenny D
will be in town, and everyone else looks to be available, so I think we're doin'
it!
- Only sketchy reports are available at this time, but it appears that Chris
Mason was successful in his first defense of the VCW Triple Crown Title against
Steve Shilson in WSW. Apparently, Mason legitimately KO'ed Shilson with a kick
to the face, then hit a Shooting Star Senton, then hit a Stampede Ki Krusher for
the win. When we have the full report and the match time, we'll throw it up in
the Results section. Hopefully Mason can rack up some more defenses while he's
out there. After next show Lenny D will be flying out to Ontario to claim his
Triple Crown shot, most likely in a WSW ring.
<2/12/04 @ 2:46 AM PST>
- The VCW Awards are
coming. Hopefully by tomorrow, we will have posted the ballots for the 2003 VCW
Awards, as well as the Best Matches of VCW (cut-off date 9/28/03). So stay tuned
for those.
<2/11/04 @ 5:19 AM PST>
- We're looking at Saturday
the 14th for the next show, where we hope to get the Scramble done.
- Chris Mason will FINALLY make his first defense of the Triple Crown Title this
Saturday. No, he won't be at our show. He'll be at WSW's big show in Windsor,
Ontario, defending against one of their top stars and reknowned high flyer,
Steve Shilson. The winner of that will take on Lenny about two weeks later, also
in a WSW ring. We'll hopefully get the matches online shortly after they happen.
- Thanks for the feedback on the 2003 Year in Review, both positive and
otherwise. We're amazed that as many people read this beast of a review as they
did.
<2/6/04 @ 6:03 AM PST>
- The "Mad VCW Info"
section is now working. Check 'er out. Lots of fun stuff. And the "Awards" and
"Best of" sections within that page are yet to come. For now, check out the
insane 12,000-word Year in Review for 2003.
<2/2/04 @ 4:26 AM PST>
- I bet you thought we had
the Scramble. Fools! Haven't you learned yet? If we say there's going to be a
Scramble, then you're almost 100% guaranteed that there won't be a
Scramble. That said, we're doing the Scramble next show.
- As for this show, we started off with a rematch of HWF's two top stars, Pistol
Pete Cruz & "The Real Deal" Ryan Briggs. The last time these two met in singles
competition, Pete got the victory with the Superkick. These two also met in a 3
Way with Suicide, where Pete also got the win. This time, however, Briggs got
his revenge, making Pistol Pete tap out to the Crippler Crossface. Ryan also
showed quite a vicious streak here, refusing to release the hold long after the
ref had called for the bell. The second (and final) match of the day was Jason
Drake defending the VCW Canadian title against Daniel Makabe, Zeus McFly,
Psychotic Kid, and Scott Henson in an Elimination 5 Way Dance. Note: this does
not count as Psychotic Kid's Canadian Title shot that he earned at Best of the
Rest 3, so it was agreed that if he didn't win, he would still receive a shot
down the road. As for the match, Jason Drake played it smart in this match, not
tagging in too often, and keeping himself fresh, so as to be able to get to the
final two, and hopefully win and retain his title. Mid-match, there was a whole
lot of insanity. After beating down Zeus McFly, Scott Henson took him to the
apron, and hit an insane Death Valley Driver TO THE FLOOR~! And then Daniel
Makabe hit a somersault senton off the sprong TO THE FLOOR~! And then Psychotic
Kid hit a running Shooting Star Press off the apron TO THE FLOOR~! And then we
stopped doing moves to the floor for a little while. But then we started again.
Makabe was going to tackle Henson into the ropes, but Henson dodged, making
Makabe do a Tope TO THE FLOOR~! Then Psychotic Kid did a somersault senton off
the top rope TO THE FLOOR~!... BUT Makabe moved out of the way, causing
Psychotic Kid to land very hard ON THE FLOOR~! Kid was unable to continue the
match after this, and looks to have injured his tailbone. He'll probably be out
for a few shows, so we wish him a speedy recovery. Anyway, with Henson and
Makabe back in the ring, Henson hit the CRITICAL! and took Makabe to the top for
You Sunk My Battleship. Makabe fought out of it and was able to hit a
Cross-Armed Iconoclasm, a first for Makabe. He then slapped on the Makabe Lock,
and Henson was forced to tap out, giving Makabe two straight victories over
Henson. The next elimination was Zeus McFly, who ate the Whattamaneuver from
Jason Drake and took the pinfall. That left Daniel Makabe and Jason Drake, who
was one pin away from his 11th Canadian Title defense. Makabe dominated Drake,
and set him up for the Cross-Armed Iconoclasm, which worked for him ealier.
Drake got out of it and went for a Tornado DDT. Makabe reversed that, too, and
climed up for a Superplex of some sort. With both men on the top, Drake punched
away at Makabe, and hit, for the second time ever, the Coca Cola Classic (a.k.a.
Pepsi Plunge, a.k.a. Top-rope Pedigree). Of course, that was enough for the pin,
and Jason Drake is still your VCW Canadian Champion. See ya next week.
- Happy Groundhog Day!
