- We didn't do either of the planned shows this past week. The show scheduled for Wednesday just turned into a training session, which was fine. Saturday we were all set for a show, but when we got to the Wrestleplex, there was no ring, so there ya go (the ring's there now, don't worry). So it looks like the next show is potentially our biggest show of the year, the 6th Annual Canada Day Massacre.

- Media update: after recording the commentary and promos WELL OVER A YEAR AGO, the full show from 3/7/04 ("175 Fists Per Stomach") is finally up in the media section, with some tremendous, poorly-slapped-together editing. Also, we have Kingpin's VCW music video debut with Shaken Baby Syndrome from March 26. Additionally, we have both of Yakuza J's matches from IRW's New York Redemption in March, against Anarchy Andy and Soyboy. This is hopefully only the first part of a wave of new media, as we're expecting another 3, possibly 4, music videos.
- Two more shows until the Canada Day Massacre (possibly our most stacked card ever), this Wednesday and Saturday.

- As promised, we got some matches under our belts this past Wednesday. Considering it was a midweek show, some pretty major happenings... happened. First we had the surprise return of Drew Sarian (as Drew Jack), against Mercury, who came out to mock what he thought was an absent Sarian by wearing his gear. Mercury actually ended up getting the win after going crazy on Drew Jack with the staple gun. The other major event was the VCW debut of motherfucking Kingpin. That's right, Kingpin wrestled his first match in well over 2 years this past Wednesday, at VCW. He took on Zeus McFly in the main event, and McFly managed to pull out the win, despite the 280-pound(~!) weight disadvantage (believe me, it was weirder for me to write it than you to read it). Kingpin wanted to shake off the ring rust before Backyard Fest (which is getting frighteningly close), and with another show or two before the fest, he'll do so. Also on the card we had Nick Price defeat Mercury with a Superfly Splash. A rematch has been signed between the two for the Canada Day Massacre. The two other matches on the card (Big Al vs. Daniel Makabe, and Ruckus vs. Johnny Testarossa) featured two definite Spot of the Year candidates: Big Al reversing Daniel Makabe's Tope with a powerslam, and a Springboard Dropkick to the FLOOR by Ruckus on Johnny Testarossa.

- No show this past weekend due to injuries and unavailabilities. Hopefully this will give everyone a chance to heal up for the big upcoming events. There is also no show this weekend due to the ring being in transit on Saturday, and apparently people celebrate Father's Day (who knew?), so no show on Sunday. We'll get some matches in at training this Wednesday, then a show the weekend of the 25th, then the 6th Annual Canada Day Massacre on the July 1, and the 3-day Backyard Fest extravaganza the following week.
- Expect some new music videos in the next few days.

- The updates just keep on comin'. After last week's show title, Lenny D's A Series of Unfortunate Events, actually LED to a series of unforunate events, we figured we'd play it safe with a less foreboding title this week: "The Event Wherein Everybody Has Fun and Nobody Gets Hurt." And it pretty well paid off. No major injuries, and no yelling and/or screaming and/or bitching and/or walking out on matches. First up was Zeus McFly taking on Johnny Testarossa, still looking for that elusive first win. And this was probably the closest he's come yet. Johnny was busting out Saturday Night Lives into walls, Spinning Rock Bottoms onto the apron, and all sorts of shit. He even busted out a Spit-in-the-mouth Steiner Recliner, but this merely served to anger McFly, who snowballed the spit back into Testarossa's mouth as he applied the Camel Clutch for the win. Second on the menu was Big Al, in his rad new pink tights, taking on the other half of the YOH Tag Team Champions, Tiger J, after defeating Ryan Rage to earn a future Tag Title shot for himself and Ruckus at a later date. This match had no such stipulation, but Tiger J wanted to avenge his team's honor. And avenge it he did. After a nasty Tiger Suplex that may have injured Al's arm, Tiger J focussed his attack on it. And after Al made the crucial mistake of going for, and missing, the Big Al-bow off the top, Tiger J hit a tricked-out Canadian Destroyer on Al's arm for the victory. The main event was Lenny D taking on Ruckus, who was receiving his first ever VCW Triple Crown shot. After a messed up apron-to-floor belly-to-belly, both men were knocked a little loopy, but still carried on and hit each other with everything they had. After a flurry of offence from Ruckus, he went to finish things off with a Top-rope Rana, but Lenny caught him and reversed it into a Top-rope Darkness Dust for the win. Still a great showing for Ruckus, who has certified himself as a main event player (as well as a top-level tag worker, along with partner Big Al).
- Hard to believe it's only a month until Backyard Fest. Doesn't seem like that long ago when people were talking about it being 6 or 7 months away, which seemed like an awfully long time. Well, it's creeping up.

- We best be making with the updates, as we're already three shows behind. The last few reports had ENTIRELY too much writing, so for this one, we're going back to the uber-lazy "I tell you a bit of what happened, and then you look in the Results section" deal. We did a double-shot the weekend of the 21st and 22nd, with each show having a huge match. In addition to the main, the Saturday show had a big match between Jacob Myles and Sean Sylum for the Canadian Title. The first two falls had some downright surreal spots, including Jacob Myles making Sean Sylum fall asleep, and Sean Sylum ripping out Myles's heart. The third fall was surprisingly announced as a Loser Leaves Town match. After giving it his all, Sean Sylum fell to some sneaky tactics by Myles. This may be the last time we see Sean Sylum for a while. The main event of "The Epicker Encounter" was Scott Henson taking on Daniel Makabe in a match that hopefully, for Henson's sake, lasts more than 22 seconds, unlike his flash loss to Makabe at the Anniversary show. Henson had another three weeks to heal his shoulder since the Anniversary, and now felt he was at 100%. Henson and Makabe pulled out all the stops in this match, to put it mildly. After 27+ minutes of craziness, Makabe reversed out of a You Sunk My Battleship attempt and hit the 20 Years Old, capped off with a Top-rope Senton for the win. The second day of the double-shot, appropriately titled "In Your House: Beware of Dog(fight)" was indeed all about the first ever 3 Way Tag Dogfight in the history of wrestling, featuring the Bubble Tea Mafia, the Fabulous Newton Boys, and Chris Mason & Jacob Myles representing the In Crowd. This match had some spots that can only be described as... scrumtrilescent. Way too much to name. In the end, after Ruckus got a surprise small package on Yakuza J for the pin, the In Crowd, instead of coming back into the match, simply walked out for the countout loss, claiming "this match is jokes" (obviously some sort of cool kid slang), giving the win to Ruckus & Big Al. This past Sunday the 29th, we had... fuck it, it's nearly 5 in the morning. Read the results.
- The injury bug has struck hard in VCW. In addition to the chronic, nagging injuries that almost everyone has, we have a few more serious injuries. In the Dogfight on 5/22/05, Jacob Myles incurred the same injury that Scott Henson just came back from (separated AC Joint), taking the 21 Years Old from Daniel Makabe. And two more major injuries this past Sunday, as Yakuza J injured his right leg (either ACL, MCL, hamstring, or a combination of the three) slingshotting into the ring (which subsequently resulted in the postponement of the scheduled Yakuza J vs. Daniel Makabe vs. PSYCH 3 Way Dance), and Chris Mason broke his collarbone somewhere in his match with Lenny D. Mason didn't even realise he had broken it until he went to the doctor's to check on what he thought was a broken bone in his foot. The good news: his foot is fine.
