- Had us our
little show yesterday. Jason Drake was unable to attend, but everyone else who
was expected to be there came. The two returning VCW stars, as alluded to
previously, were "Good Enough 2" Peter Piscopo (who may or may not be on THE
JUICE~!), and perennial favourite, S2K. Neither wrestled on the show, but both
checked things out hopefully in preparation for a return. The one and only match
of the night pitted VCW Triple Crown Champion "Hot Shit" Scott Henson &
semi-regular tag partner of late Daniel Makabe against the #1 Contender to the
Triple Crown, Chris Mason, along with Psychotic Kid. S2K took over refereeing
duties for the match. It turned out very well: some would go as far as to say
that it was one of VCW's best tag matches. The story of the match was the larger
team of Henson and Makabe working over the back of Psychotic Kid in hopes to
wear him down for a big move or a submission. Just when it looked like the
underdog team of Mason and PK were on the brink of victory, Makabe & Henson cut
them right off to set them up for the finish: Makabe hit his new move, 19 Years
Old (a cradle tombstone) and applied a bow-and-arrow submission on Psychotic
Kid's already weak back. Henson hit a somersault senton on PK while in the
submission and then hit Chris Mason with the CRITICAL!, preventing him from
breaking up the submission. PK was forced to tap out shortly afterward. Since
then, Psychotic Kid has asked for a singles match with Daniel Makabe. Kid
insists that without all the double-teaming, he can get the win in a one-on-one
encounter.
- Our next show will be in the first week of September. What day, you ask?
That's getting a little personal, isn't it?

- For possibly
the first time ever, our show date has been moved UP. The 8/29/03 show will now
be taking place later today (8/28/03), and the line-up has changed slightly.
Lenny D will not be in the house, as he will not have returned from Osoyoos yet;
however, three, count 'em, THREE VCW personalities will be making their returns
after considerable absences. Hopefully these returns will not be one-time deals,
as it would be nice to add some names to the Active Roster. Also on the card
will be "Hot Shit" Scott Henson, Chris Mason, Daniel Makabe, Psychotic Kid, and
Jason Drake.
<8/25/03 @ 10:54 PM PST>
- Yakuza J has
headed back to New York to further hone his skills. He will be back in December
for a few weeks. He may make it back for a show in October or November as well.
His match against Daniel Makabe was an excellent one to go out on.
- We had us a show on Saturday the 23rd. First up, "Hot Shit" Scott Henson
defeated Zeus McFly in a non-title match. Next, Chris Mason made his return
after more than a 6 week absence in Ontario. He took on Psychotic Kid and VCW
Canadian Champion Jason Drake in a rather unique match: 3 Falls, with each fall
being for something different. The first fall was for Canadian Title #1
Contendership, the second fall was for Triple Crown #1 Contendership, and the
third fall was for the Canadian Title itself. Psychotic Kid took the first fall
by making Jason Drake tap to the Crucifix Chinlock. Chris Mason took the second
fall (and, with it, a Triple Crown Title shot) by hitting Ki Krushering
Psychotic Kid onto Jason Drake and pinning Psychotic Kid. Jason Drake was able
to retain his Canadian Title in the third fall when Psychotic Kid found himself
BLUNTED~! (hit with a bong). The match featured some wicked spots in addition to
the ones mentioned, including a Standing Moonsault Senton by Chris Mason, a
(missed) Standing Shooting Star Legdrop by Mason, and a Sprial Tap plancha by
Psychotic Kid. After the match, matchmaker du jour Scott Henson said that since
Drake is the Canadian Champion and Psychotic Kid just earned a shot at it, why
not do it right now. Though tired from the match they just had, both wrestlers
agreed to do it. Jason Drake again retained his title (for the eighth time, a
VCW Canadian Title record) with the Pedigree.
- Our next show will be Friday, August 29th. Two matches are signed thus far.
Daniel Makabe will be taking on Psychotic Kid, and, stemming from a challenge
made on the VCW Message Board, Lenny D and Chris Mason will take on "Hot Shit"
Scott Henson and Jason Drake.

- Two, count 'em,
TWO new full matches are. The two big 'uns from this past supershow (Lenny D vs.
Scott Henson, and Yakuza J vs. Daniel Makabe) are up, with commentary, in the
Multimedia Section. Word.

- Hey! We finally
had the damn supershow! It took place at the oddest of times: midnight until 3
a.m. on Sunday the 17th. We have concluded that wrestling late is better than
wrestling early. Anyway, Daniel Makabe took on OCW's Tiger J in the opener.
Makabe was all about the leg submissions in this one, and got the win with an
Inverted Texas Cloverleaf. Next up, we were scheduled to have VCW Canadian
Champion Jason Drake defend against Psychotic Kid, but the latter no-showed.
Thus, Yakuza J stepped up to the plate and took on Drake. After Yakuza
accidentally knocked out the ref, Lenny D ran in to assist Yakuza by planting
Jason with the Moonlight Bomb and locking on the Dragon Clutch. Scott Henson ran
in and chased off Lenny. Henson distracted Yakuza and allowed Jason Drake to
nail the Whattamaneuver and retain his title. In the next bout, Lenny D took on
Mokay Lee in a rematch from the VCW/OCW Funtime Summer Spectacular. The result
was the same, as Mokay came up short after succumbing to the Moonlight Bomb
followed by the Dragon Clutch, which seems to be Lenny's winning combo as of
late. In the first of the two main events, Yakuza J took on Daniel Makabe in a
grudge match stemming from the tag team match at the last supershow (6/28/03).
These two took it to each other with some vicious chops and power moves. As the
end rolled around, they started exchanging boots to the face, all of which hit
pretty damn hard. Makabe eventually was able to hit a German suplex on Yakuza,
but Yakuza came back with a massive German of his own. At this point, both were
basically out from exhaustion, and the referee administered the 10 count,
counting both men out. In the other main event, "Hot Shit" Scott Henson (looking
for successful defense number 7) put up the VCW Triple Crown against Lenny D's
OCW Metal Crown in order to unify the titles. They went back and forth, with
Lenny trying to work over Scott's neck (to set up his Moonlight Bomb to Dragon
Clutch combo), and Henson trying to take out Lenny's legs. The end came when
Henson was setting up Lenny for the über-murderous You Sunk My Battleship. Lenny
fought it and went for a top-rope Makura Cutter, but Henson fought back and was
able to hit it. Lenny, going purely on instict, somehow got back to a vertical
base, but the second he put pressure on his left leg (which Henson had been
working), it buckled under him and he collapsed to the mat, allowing Henson to
jump on him for the three count. Overall, a very good show, with a solid
undercard, and two great main events.
- We may hold an event midweek this week, or, at the latest, this weekend.
- On August 20th, Chris Mason will be returning from his 6+ week learning
excursion to Eastern Canada, and with his newfound knowledge and skill, will be
looking to get into the title hunt right away upon his return.
<8/9/03 @ 12:41 AM PST>
- The boys are
back in town after a successful trip to the interior. The "Four Horsemen" of VCW
(Scott Henson, Yakuza J, Lenny D, Daniel Makabe) travelled to the OCW Arena in
Osoyoos for the VCW/OCW Funtime Summer Spectacular. The story of the night was
VCW winning every interpromotional singles match. Lenny D got off to a shaky
start against Mokay Lee, but was able to put him away pretty handily with the
same way he beat Scott Henson at the last supershow: a Moonlight Bomb rolled
directly into a Dragon Clutch. Daniel Makabe went all Malenkoey on Kool K,
finishing off with Deano Machino's patented Standing Tiger Driver into a Texas
Cloverleaf. Yakuza J took on Tiger J in a battle of the J's. Yakuza legitimately
weighs four times as much as Tiger. This match was sick. Yakuza almost
immediately started his Endless Powerbombs, and hit a record 20(!) Powerbombs
before Tiger J's manager, Fluffy the Tiger, threw in the towel rather than risk
further injury to his client. "Hot Shit" Scott Henson took on the alpha male of
OCW, Ryan Rage. Despite saying he would not defend the VCW Triple Crown before,
he was coerced into doing it. As the end of the match approached, Henson would hit a
high-impact move that would surely finish the match, but then pick up Rage's
head off the mat before the three count could be made. He did this multiple
times with multiple moves, just totally insulting Rage. Finally, Henson picked
up Rage and rolled him up with a Small Package for the three. Afterwards, Henson
acted like he had won the main event at Wrestlemania. In the main event, it was
a VCW vs. OCW Elimination Match, with the four VCW members taking on Ryan Rage,
Tiger J, Astounding Andrea, and Amazing Red. Yakuza J nailed the Amazing Red
with a Lariat as soon as she entered the ring and pinned her. Tiger J, still
recovering from those 20 powerbombs, sacrificed himself and dragged Yakuza to
the outside and was able to keep him out there for the double countount. Yakuza
didn't know what happened at first, because he was expecting the VCW 20-count
system, as opposed to OCW's 10-count. Next, Lenny D was able to take out
Astounding Andrea with the Dragon Clutch, making sure to grab some titty while
he was at it. That left Ryan Rage against 3 VCW members. Rage caught Daniel
Makabe offguard, and was able to pin him with a German Suplex. After going back
and forth with Lenny D, Rage was able to pin him too, with the Manitoba Meltdown
(Yokosuka Cutter). That left Scott Henson and Ryan Rage, who had faced off
earlier. Henson did the same cocky routine as their previous encounter, pulling
him up after various power moves. But when Henson went for the Small Package
this time, Rage reversed it and got the amazing upset win, sending the OCW fans
home happy.
- The next day, August 5th, the VCW crew checked out the Smackdown/Velocity
taping in Kelowna. It was a good show with some fun matches. There was a really
good Velocity match (to air today) featuring Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin vs.
Spanky & Funaki. Smackdown had some good stuff, too: Chris Benoit vs. Eddy
Guerrero (which turned into Benoit & Tajiri vs. Eddy & Rhyno) and Rey Misterio
Jr. vs. Charlie Haas. On the flip side, John Cena vs. Undertaker was unbearably
bad (and long).
- And, uh, you know when we said that we would definitely be having our
supershow this weekend? Yeah, we meant NEXT weekend.
<8/4/03 @ 1:29 AM PST>
- Well, it's been
just over a month since our last show... BUT the wheels are in motion. Earlier
today, the Ring Crew Express was hard at work cementing 4'x4' posts at our ring
in Aubrey Gardens. And we will definitely be having our supershow at the ASW
Wrestleplex this coming weekend. We hope to get some more shows going once Lenny
D returns from Osoyoos in the next week or two, and Chris Mason returns from
Ontario on August 20th.
- However, you won't have to wait too long until you get some VCDub action. Some
VCW members are making the trek to the Okanagan to participate on an OCW
(Okanagan Championship Wrestling) show, as part of a talent sharing agreement.
As you may recall, Mokay Lee and Kool K of OCW made an appearance on a VCW show
in June. The card, scheduled for, technically, today (August 4), looks like
this:
- As you can see,
you'll even get a preview of the main event for the next supershow in Scott
Henson vs. Lenny D. Their OCW encounter will NOT be for the VCW Triple Crown
(but their Wrestleplex match will), as Henson has flat-out refused to defend the
title on non-VCW soil. What a fag.
