- 'Tis the Scramble that
wouldn't happen. We were short a couple people, so the Scramble was again
postponed, but we are confident that we will open 2004 with it. Nevertheless, we
still had a show, and it was a pretty good one. First up, we had two guys who
have been on a roll lately, Psychotic Kid & Zeus McFly. After a good
back-and-forth stuggle, Zeus McFly successfully connected with the Inward Death
for the first time ever, and it got him the win. In a VCW first, we had a
"Contenders" Rules (Abu Dhabi Grappling) Tag Match with Shane Mondo & Daniel
Makabe taking on Yakuza J & Zeus McFly. The end came when McFly got an toe hold
on Shane Mondo's injured left ankle, forcing him to tap. We'll most likely be
doing more of these matches in the future, maybe with varying rules (2-of-3
Falls, Elimination), as everyone enjoyed it. Mondo certainly wants a chance to
do it again, as he wouldn't have had to tap had he not been injured. In the main
event, we saw "Hot Shit" Scott Henson teaming up with "Insane" Shane Mondo to
take on Daniel Makabe and Yakuza J. Right off the bat, Henson & Mondo took out
Yakuza and hit the T-Gimmick on Makabe, nearly getting the win in about 20
seconds. However, Makabe kicked out, things calmed down, and we settled into a
regular tag match. The very aggressive team of Makabe & Yakuza went to work on
Henson's left arm and Mondo's right arm. Some nice stuff was hit during the
course of the match, including stereo DVD's by Henson & Mondo, an extremely high
elevation Blue Thunder by Henson on Makabe, an impressive Northern Lights Bomb
by Yakuza on Henson, and a Kenta Combo with a NASTY high kick by Mondo on
Yakuza. At the end, Henson & Mondo got Yakuza out of the ring, and they went to
hit the T-Gimmick again on Makabe, but their respective arms were too weak to
lift Makabe, after all the work that had been done on them. They quickly
switched sides, so as to use the opposite arms than usual for the T-Gimmick, and
they were able to hit it and pin Makabe together. This match ended Scott
Henson's 5 match losing streak, and he was so happy to be winning again that he
asked Mondo to tag with him full time. Mondo accepted, and the two reformed "The
Top Tag Team in VCW" (or so they used to say). They even have an official name
now: Three Times One Minus One.
... That equals two, for those who are still thinking about it.
- Our first 3 shows for 2004 are looking awesome. Providing all goes well,
there'll be back-to-back-to-back supershows. The first one, preliminarily
scheduled for 1/4/04, will be Scramble Madness 2, as stated before. The next
show will be a concept we've been talking about doing for a while: UWFv. We'll
be taking a page out of the UWFi/U-STYLE book for an evening of shoot style
matches. There will be a 4-Man Round Robin featuring Jimmy McGimmick, "Insane"
Shane Mondo, Daniel Makabe, & Yakuza J. Also, "Hot Shit" Scott Henson will be
taking on Psychotic Kid in a UWFv Superfight (i.e. non-tournament match). There
should be several more matches on that show as well. And the show after that
should be as big, if not bigger, than the previous two. It's our 100th Show.
Yup, we're hitting the one century mark. As of yet, nothing is booked, but we
should hopefully have at least one title match.
- Oh yeah, Happy New Year, y'all.

- Multimedia is fixed! All
of it! And we even added a music video (Canada Day '03)! Hooray for everything!
- To answer your next question, yes, we had our show on 12/21/03, but due to
time constraints, we only got about half of what we wanted done. Never fear,
we'll do the rest at our next show. We didn't get the scramble done, but that
will be saved for the last show of 2003, and it's gonna be a biggy... SCRAMBLE
MADNESS 2... ELECTRIC BOOGALOO.
- We did, however, manage to get the big tag match done, and we now have a #1
Contender for the VCW Triple Crown, who will be flying First Class to Ontario to
fight the current champion, Chris Mason. Who is it? Don't be silly, you're going
to have to read thousands more words to find that out. Yakuza J, making his
return to VCW after a 4 month learning excursion, ended up replacing Daniel
Makabe as Lenny D's tag partner against Scott Henson & Psychotic Kid. This was
due to the fact that Makabe injured himself in training the night before the
show (he was rumoured to be practicing Deranged (JAPW) spots... we don't know
why either). Anyway, Yakuza J had Psychotic Kid pinned with a Northern Lights
Bomb, but Lenny D (J's partner) came off the top with a sick Moonsault Kneedrop
on Yakuza, and pinned Psychotic Kid for himself. So Lenny D receives an
all-expense-paid ticket to Ontario to face Chris Mason for the VCW Triple Crown,
which will likely be Mason's first defense. We also had a 3 Way Dance featuring
three former HWF (Langley) members: Pistol Pete Cruz, "Real Deal" Ryan Briggs,
and the debuting Suicide. Pistol Pete picked up the win in this one, making that
two straight wins for him. The last match had Foul Play (Ruckus & Drake Dredd)
defending the VBW Tag Team Titles for the last time. Why the last time? Read on.
Anyway, their opponents were Zeus McFly and Red Money (also making his debut).
Foul Play picked up the win with their Doomsday Dropkick. Now as for this "last
defense" thing. Y'see, after the show, Foul Play cut themselves a little promo.
Well, actions speak louder than words, so
here it is.
Suffice it to say, the former VBW Tag Team Titles are now the new incarnation of
the VCW Tag Team Titles. They will be referred to as "VCW Tag Team Titles 2.0"
in the Title Histories.
- Oh yeah, Merry Christmas, y'all.

- Our multimedia got fucked
up again, so everything is down at the moment. We should have it all back up in
the next few days.
- Sunday's show is gonna be bitchin'.
- Word on the street is that VBW is dead. Damn shame. *sheds a tear* There may
be some mention of it on Sunday's show... there WILL be some mention of it on
Sunday's show. Expect videos/pictures up shortly after.

- Two new full matches
(with commentary) are up from our show on Monday: "Hot Shit" Scott Henson vs.
Zeus McFly, and Daniel Makabe vs. Psychotic Kid in the Finals of the Best of the
Rest 3. Check 'em out in the Multimedia section.
- And boy, do we have a show for you. We're combining our next two plans for
supershows into one bigass supershow. The Relevos Increibles match has been
modified somewhat. It's still the same people (Henson & Psychotic Kid vs. Makabe
& Lenny D), but instead of the winners fighting each other for a title shot, the
person who gets the winning fall will get a title shot, making this tag match
all the more important. We will also see the VCW RETURN OF YAKUZA J! He's back
after four months in New York, and he's itching to get back into the thick of
things. He'll start by taking on Zeus McFly, who is coming off a huge win over
Scott Henson. Ruckus and Drake Dredd will square off again, in a rematch from
the Best of the Rest 3 Opening Round. "Insane" Shane Mondo, Peter Piscopo,
Canadian Champion Jason Drake, and Pistol Pete Cruz are also scheduled to be in
action. And there was one more thing... what was it... oh yeah, MOTHERFUCKING
SCRAMBLE TIME, BABY! We got some crazy 5 on 5 shit going on here:
Lenny D, Yakuza J, Zeus McFly, Ruckus, & Drake Dredd vs. "Hot Shit" Scott
Henson, Daniel Makabe, Psychotic Kid, "Insane" Shane Mondo, & Jason Drake.
Depending on people's availability, it may be taken down to a 4 on 4, but either
way, you can be sure to expect, as the ROH announcers so eloquently put it, "A
ridiculous display of spots."

- Despite yesterday's
claims, Lenny D was, in fact, not BACK~! for the show tonight, as he was still
held up out of town. He'll hopefully be around for our next show. Nevertheless,
we still had an excellent show, and we concluded the Best of the Rest 3
Tournament (although not in the way we expected). 2 of the 4 Semifinal
competitors were unable to attend. Ruckus, who defeated tag partner Drake Dredd
in the first round, has been encarcerated in a provincial penitentiary for the
next few days due to an undisclosed misdemeanor. He will most likely be bailed
out and back in action next show. Ruckus gave permission for Drake Dredd to take
his place in the tournament. In a back and forth match with Psychotic Kid, the
D-R-E-double-D eventually fell prey to the Merry Melodies Superkick. Nice little
match, and one of Dredd's best performances in VCW or VBW. Psychotic Kid
advances to the finals. Next up were HWF stars Pistol Pete Cruz and "The Real
Deal" Ryan Briggs battling it out. After extensive leg work, Pete was able to
make Ryan tap out to the Figure Four Leglock. We are informed that this is the
first time Ryan has tapped out in his wrestling career. Post-match, "Hot Shit"
Scott Henson ran in and hit Pistol Pete with the Blue Thunder for an unknown
reason. Soon after, it was revealed that Briggs had hired Henson to take out
Cruz. Henson took the job because he has lost his Triple Crown, he lost in the
first round of BOTR2003, and, frankly, he needs the money. Next was scheduled to
be "Insane" Shane Mondo taking on Daniel Makabe in the other Semifinal of
BOTR2003. However, Mondo was injured from the Snap Schoolboy delivered by Jimmy
McGimmick last show and was unable to compete (or even attend). Thus, with no
one to replace Mondo, Makabe got a bye in the tournament, giving him an
advantage over Psychotic Kid, who has already wrestled a match. The semi-main
was "Hot Shit" Scott Henson taking on Zeus McFly, hot off his excellent
performance (albeit a losing cause) last week. Henson dished out a million
strikes and Zeus took 'em all and fired back. After Henson got his knees up to
block a moonsault by Zeus, he went for the CRITICAL!, but McFly caught him with
a backslide for one of the biggest wins in his VCW career. This is Henson's
fourth straight loss (the last three of which have been singles losses). Onto
the main event: Psychotic Kid taking on a fresh Daniel Makabe in the Finals of
the Best of the Rest 3 Tournament. The winner will be receiving a Canadian Title
shot at our next show. The two had tons of great matwork in this match, and then
they kicked in with the big moves, including an AMAZING Tope Suicida by Makabe,
just crushing Kid. PK was a split second away from the win after hitting a Tiger
Suplex, but Makabe kicked out. Kid went up top, presumably for the Phoenix
Splash, but Makabe crotched him on the top rope. Makabe looked to be going for a
Black Tiger Bomb off the top, but PK reversed it with an incredible Huracanrana,
and slapped on a Jujigatame. PK had been working Makabe's arm for the bulk of
the match, and this was just too much for Daniel, forcing him to tap out. So
Psychotic Kid wins the Best of the Rest 3, and continues his hot streak.
- Rumor has it that Yakuza J will be returning to VCW next show, as he is
finished his current learning excursion. And as we said, Lenny D will hopefully
be back, so it will be nice to have some familiar faces on the show.
<12/15/03 @ 4:06 AM PST>
- Hey folks, we're having
our next show tomorrow (technically today) at 7:00 p.m., so be there or be
queer. Providing all goes well, Lenny D will be BACK~! for the Relevos Incrébles
with Scott Henson, Daniel Makabe, and Psychotic Kid. In addition, we may have
some semi-final Best of the Rest Tournament matches (though those may be saved
for a later show, depending on how things go. Anyway, look for some results, and
maybe some matches, up tomorrow. Peace.
<12/8/03 @ 3:11 PM PST>
- Had us a show! Turns out
the card was neither of the expect ones. Instead, we remembered we had to
continue the late-fall tradition of BEST OF THE REST! Yup, on December 7th, we
held VCW BOTR2003 Opening Round. You know you love the PRIDE-esque title. As you
may remember, BOTR typically involves some sort of tournament, and that
tournament somehow involves the Canadian Title. So, we figured we'd have us an
8-man tournament for a shot at the Canadian Title. In the opening round, we had
tag partners collide, as Ruckus defeated Drake Dredd with something of a "flash
pin" with the Oklahoma roll. Psychotic scored his second upset win in as many
shows (maybe they're not upsets anymore), defeating 5-time Triple Crown Champion
"Hot Shit" Scott Henson. Henson looked to be going for You Sunk My Battleship,
but Kid threw him off the top and quickly nailed a nice Phoenix Splash for the
win. Next up, Daniel Makabe took on Zeus McFly. McFly went for a top-rope
plancha to the outside, but Makabe caught him with a dropkick in a nasty spot.
Later, Makabe started hitting some of the stiffest strikes he's ever hit, and
Zeus was right there to take them and dish some back. Makabe ended up getting
the win with a German Suplex Pin in a very good match. In the last of the
opening round matches, "Insane" Shane Mondo took on a returning-to-VCW Jimmy
McGimmick (we haven't seen Jimmy since July 2nd). Another very good match, and
this was something of a "shoot-style sprint," for lack of better term. Jimmy has
obviously been training in his time off, as he pulled off some very sneaky
maneuvers (catching a diving Mondo in an ankle lock comes to mind). Mondo, down
to 220 pounds, looked in good shape, and was able to hit several of his big
moves, and finished it off with his patented Louie Spicolli DVD. It should be
noted that two members of VCW probably had their best matches on this show,
those being Jimmy McGimmick and Zeus McFly.
- We're hoping to have BOTR2003 Final Rounds next weekend, with Daniel Makabe
taking on "Insane" Shane Mondo, and Ruckus taking on Psychotic Kid. Then the
winners of those will face off, and the winner of THAT will get a crack at Jason
Drake's Canadian Title.
<12/5/03 @ 9:25 PM

- Holy shit, we're having a
show. Yup, after 2+ months, we're back. The card is unclear right now. If Lenny
D is able to make it back, we will have the Relevos Incrébles
match (Scott Henson & Psychotic Kid vs. Daniel Makabe & Lenny D), the singles
match resulting from it, as well as numerous undercard matches. If not, we're
gonna have us a big ol' Scramble. Either way, all signs point to fun.
<12/4/03 @ 1:42 AM PST>
- The full match of the
ASPW Double Debut is now up. Check it out in the Multimedia section.
- We're hoping to have a show this Saturday, but nothing is for certain yet.
