- Yo, long time no update.
Well, no shows either, so not much to update on. The VCW Awards Benefit & Gala
was postponed due to the inavailability of certain member. We hope to hold it in
the next few weeks, hopefully when both Lenny D and the returning Chris Mason
are in town.
- The next show is tentatively scheduled for April 4th, 2004 (Four-Four-Oh-Four,
if you will). Stay tuned.

- On March 7, while PWG was
presenting "88 Miles Per Hour" at an undisclosed location in Southern
California, VCW was rockin' it up north with "175 Fists Per Stomach!" We started
off with what is sure to be the first of many Contenders Battle Royals~! We had six
participants to start off, with it coming down to Jimmy McGimmick and the
returning Yakuza J. McGimmick got the duke with a backmounted facelock just after
the 6 minute mark, but he better watch his back next time, 'cause I'm thinking
those other 5 guys aren't going to want the same result again. The first
official match of the night (Contenders matches not being officially sanctioned by
VCW) was Zeus McFly taking on Mercury. At one point Zeus tried some sort of
video-game powerbomb off the top, but slipped, and ended up doing a fucked-up
Colt .45 on Mercury. We laughed. Mercury didn't. After McFly being in control
for much of the match, Mercury was able to hit a 'rana out of nowhere and score
another Mikey Whipwreck-esque upset victory, making it 3 in a row now. Jimmy
McGimmick was up next, hot off his Battle Royal win, taking on VCW Tag Team
Champion Ruckus. Pre-match McGimmick declared the match to be a "Gimmick Match"
because... he was in it. McGimmick was all about taking it to the mat, and this
was quite a change of pace for Ruckus's style, and may have been just what Jimmy
needed to throw of Ruckus's game plan. After numerous submission attempts and
the Gimmick Bomb, Jimmy was still unable to put Ruckus away. Taking advantage of
McGimmick's frustration, Ruckus was able to hit the "End of Days" DVD and that
was enough for the win, and probably his biggest win since entering VCW. Next
was the other half of the Tag Champs, Drake Dredd, taking on Jason Drake (TOO
MANY DRAKES!). Dredd provided some heavy offense here, including a very nice
Road2Ruin (Rolling Fisherman's Neckbreakers into a Ki Krusher), but Jason was
able to kick out. Jason got his knees up on attempted Frog Splash by Dredd,
nailed the Pedigree, and that was all she wrote. Next was Zeus McFly in his
second match of the evening taking on perennial rival Dr. Unk in his
once-every-six-months visit to VCW. This time it was a Last Man Standing match
between the two. Numerous blunt and not-so-blunt objects were used in this
"match." We had aluminum pipes, road signs, a powerbomb onto a Playstation,
sawing of foreheads, Dr. Unk taking a spill from the second floor of the
Wrestleplex, the pre-requisite Air Rair Crash through a table (this time off the
second rope). But none of this was enough to keep the other man down. Finally,
Zeus had Unk up for another powerbomb (possibly onto the Playstation again), but
Unk was able to slip out and lock in the Mandible Claw, which eventually
rendered McFly unconscious and down for the 10-count. The semi-main event was
"Crazy Fun" Scott Henson challenging for Psychotic Kid's VCW Canadian Title,
which he had not held since the summer of 2001. Both men's game plans were
established early on: Henson wanted to work Kid's ribs and Kid wanted to work
Henson's back. A lot of excellent moves by both men were seen here, including a
tilt-a-whirl Torture Rack into a stomach crusher and a modified Colt .45 on the
ribs by Henson, and a B-Boy Dropkick to Henson in a reverse Tree of Woe by Kid.
After hitting the Suicide Lionsault, Kid (whose ribs were in a lot of pain by
this point) went for the Superkick, which Henson caught. He then nailed the
CRITICAL! but did not pin Kid. Instead, he picked Kid up and hit another
CRITICAL! TO THE RIBS~! Everyone thought it was over, but Kid somehow kicked
out. Both men got up and exchanged strikes, with PK hitting a Superkick to
Henson's back, taking him down. Kid then hit a Senton (the only flying move
which doesn't affect one's ribs), and then applied a version of his Crucifix
Crossface and rolled it into a pin for the victory. The main event was Yakuza J,
here for just over a week on Spring Break, taking on Daniel Makabe. A very fast
opening sequence saw Makabe flip out of a Backdrop Driver attempt and NAIL a
Shining Wizard. Midway through the match, Makabe hit his signature Tope Suicida,
but land hard on his knee, which Yakuza promptly went to work on. Makabe
focussed his attacks on Yakuza's neck, including a big German Suplex, a
Springboard DDT, and even a Springboard Shining Wizard. Late in the match,
Yakuza went to do a Stretch Muffler on Makabe's bad leg, but his neck gave out.
Makabe went another springboard maneuver, but Yakuza caught him in mid-air and
hit an Exploder. Makabe was able to get to his feet but was stopped dead in his
tracks and PLANTED with a Northern Lights Bomb to give Yakuza the main event
victory. He is scheduled to take on Scott Henson next week.
- The VCW Awards are in and tabulated. The winners are... yeah right. That ain't
how we do it. The plan is as follows: have a show on Friday the 12th, and after
the show, the VCW Awards Benefit and Gala will be held at the Wendy's at 5970
Kingsway in Burnaby. The show will be co-hosted by Scott Henson and Lenny D.
Formal dress required. Should we be unable to have a wrestling show on the
Friday, the Awards show will still go on as planned. Times will be announced as
soon as they become available.

- In case you didn't hear,
Rob Feinstein, owner of RFVideo and Ring of Honor got busted in a setup for gay
pedophilia. Nice, Rob. RFVideo, North America's largest tape dealer, is shutting
down tomorrow, leaving room for BLUE
THUNDER VIDEO~! to step into its rightful place as #1.
- We also noticed that somehow, some way, during the server switch, a match got
deleted from the Multimedia. And not just any match. Perhaps the greatest match
of the modern wrestling era. Lenny D vs. S2K. June 22nd, 2002. Epic. Classic.
Untouched. Use any superlative you want; it's that good. So without further
adieu, the match is back up in all its glory. If you haven't seen it, do
yourself a favour, nay, a service, and watch it.

- The show scheduled for
Feb. 29th has been rescheduled due to conflicting time bullshit. We're back on
Sunday, March 7th at 7:00 p.m. Yakuza J looks to be back for this show and the
next one. His scheduled opponents are Daniel Makabe this week and Scott Henson
next week.
- Lenny D still hasn't claimed his plane ticket to Ontario nor his Triple
Crown Title shot against Chris Mason. We hope to find out why this weekend.
