- As we alluded to with a
recent show title, we are indeed "Ahead By a Century." Yep, 100 shows are now
under VCW's belt. And what a way to do it. The consensus seems to be that this
was easily one of the best, if not THE best, VCW shows yet. We opened up with
two competitors who were a tag team in VBW, Red Money and Lil' Chicho. They're
now in VCW trying to get noticed. And I believe they did. For being two of the
younger guys on the roster, both showed excellent competence with their moves.
Red Money came out the victor after reversing Chicho's finisher into his own,
the Money in the Bank (Over-shoulder Powerslam to Diamond Cutter). The next
match stemmed from last week's show, where Zeus McFly's dream tag partner, the
JXP, turned into a nightmare (ba-zing!). Zeus lost their tag match against 3x1-1
last week, and JXP was none too pleased about it, going as far as to Gorilla
Press McFly into a wall! So now we've got McFly vs. The JXP. JXP, with the 80
pound weight advantage, dominated McFly in the early goings, laying into him
with strikes and power moves. McFly fought back, but could never get the big
comeback he needed. We saw another creative Gorilla Press by JXP, this time
sending McFly to the floor with the move. Somehow, some way, McFly was able to
catch JXP with a Slingshot Sunset Flip, and that was enough for the 3 count.
Next was Jason Drake, returning after somewhat of an absence. The absence went
unexplained, so we're gonna say he went on a gambling junket to Atlantic City.
But The Drake has gotta be back for the 100th Show. He's gotta be back for
Canadian Title defense #10 (damn, the Canadian Title almost sort of means
something now). And so he was back. VCW's Tag Team Champions, Ruckus and Drake
Dredd, were scheduled to make their first defense of their titles tonight, but
unfortunately Drake Dredd was out with a bicep injury. Thus, Ruckus stepped up
for the Canadian Title shot. These two had a nice, quick match, exchanging big
moves back and forth. Drake was able to duck a roundhouse kick by The Ruck and
nailed a funky~! Pedigree to get his V10 defense of the VCW Canadian Title. Is
this kid ever gonna lose? Another VBW vs. VBW match was up next, as Wigga T took
on Mercury, who scored a major upset against James Blade last week.
Incidentally, we should note that VBW & Co. made up more than 50% of the people
at the show, which, in addition to the VCW crew, made for quite the nice, large
crowd. Anyway, Mercury dug down deep and rolled up Wigga with an Inside Cradle
for another upset win! This guy's got a serious Mikey Whipwreck vibe going.
Match #5 was Jimmy McGimmick trying to prove to the UWFv gods that he is a
STRONG MAN and avenge his loss to Daniel Makabe last week. This week he was up
against Zeus McFly in a UWFv match. Jimmy dominated most of the match, throwing
some blisteringly stiff low kicks, as well as rocking it on the mat. Jimmy was
able to get a couple of jujigatames on, but McFly was always right at the ropes
and able to get a rope break. Finally Jimmy lucked out and slapped one on in the
middle of the ring, and McFly had no choice but to tap out. UWFv is rapidly
becoming a very popular part of VCW. Next was one of the biggest matches in
VBW's history, as they set out to unify their World and Canadian Titles, as
their respective holders, "The G.O.A.T." James Blade and Jimmy Dean, duked it
out. Blade was supposedly the favourite going in (as, logically, World should do
better than Canadian), but Dean was with Blade every step of the way, and you
could tell he wanted that gold. After Dean was down on the outside from a dive,
Big Mofo Rob (who we thought was just a spectator) grabbed Jimmy Dean and
PLANTED him on the floor with a sick Chokeslam. It looked like Dean totally
torched his left shoulder, but he was able to continue. It appears that Rob was
helping out former OTB running mate James Blade in this instance (OTB was VBW's
top heel stable). Nevertheless, Dean persevered, and was able to hit his
finisher, the One Way Ticket to Dreamland (Rocker Dropper) off the second rope
on the VBW World Champion. Both men, exhausted, were able to place one arm over
their opponent's chest, and the result was a double pin, with both men retaining
their titles. Looks like VBW has some unfinished business yet. Next: Psychotic
Kid vs. Lenny D, a.k.a. KILLFEST 2004!! It would not reflect poorly on either
man if they couldn't get out of bed today, because they absolutely murderized
each other in this match. This match was for the #1 Contender's position for the
VCW Triple Crown Title. You'll remember that back in December, Lenny D won this
spot in a tag match. It included a shot at Chris Mason's VCW Triple Crown as
well as an all-expense-paid trip to Ontario to fight Mason. For whatever reason,
Lenny had yet to claim his prize, so it was put up in this match, as Psychotic
Kid won the right to face Lenny in last week's Battle Royal. Things started off
fairly normal, with both guys exchanging holds and working submissions. But
then, something seemed to snap in both guys simultaneously. And when you're
dealing with the two craziest guys in VCW, you got trouble. PK dumped Lenny on
his skull with two backdrop drivers, but that wasn't enough. Lenny hit a killer
Dragon Suplex, but PK came right back with an equally nasty Tiger Suplex. Still,
not enough. Lenny took PK over the ropes with his crazy Cactus Clothesline, and
we were worried that both guys would be counted out after all the abuse they had
taken. But both managed to make it back to the ring in time. Lenny immediately
went for his signature move as of late, the Darkness Dust (Inverted DVD), but PK
flipped out of it and did his NUTTY takedown into the Crucifix Crossface, and
the fucking place erupted. Lenny, summoning the power of the Dark Lord, was able
to stand up and get PK in a Fireman's Carry, then somehow flip him 180 degrees
into Darkness Dust position (our best scientists are still trying to figure out
how this worked). Lenny hit the Darkness Dust, and slapped on the Dragon Clutch
for the submission victory. I think it's safe to say that this is the best
under-15 minute VCW match ever, and certainly one of the best overall. So Lenny
is going to Ontario. For real, this time. His flight is even booked. He is
leaving on February 20th, and claims he will back back with the title AND MASON
in early March. Onto the main event, with "Hot Shit" Scott Henson taking on
Daniel Makabe. Makabe was out for revenge, as he feels Henson stole his win in
the 3 Way Dance with Psychotic Kid on 1/7/04. And, to be fair, Henson did steal
the win. And you know that aggressive streak that Makabe has sort of had the
last few weeks? Well, multiply that infinity times triplicate, cuz he wuz PISSED
tonight, daddy. Henson went for the CRITICAL! right off the bat, but Makabe
caught him and looked to be going for the Makabe Lock, but just let go and then
mocked Henson. Then things calmed down, and it went into a good chain wrestling
section. Henson kept looking for the headlock, but was repeatedly denied by
Makabe. Eventually, Henson faked going for the leg and was able to snatch on his
spinning headlock. From there on, Henson refused to relinquish the headlock, his
logic being, "If I have the guy in a headlock, he's probably not going to beat
me." Henson did everything to keep that headlock on, from Ricky Steamboat tricks
to Doug Williams tricks, and everything in between. Makabe managed to finally
get out though, and then it was punishment time for Henson. Makabe went totally
bitchcakes on Henson's neck, pounding the hell out of it. Makabe dominated a
good portion of the match after this. Henson still got in some offense, but not
nearly as much as he's used to. Henson would go for a quick pin with a small
package or inside cradle, Makabe would kick out, and then go right back to the
neck. Henson was finally able to reverse an Irish whip and connect with a
CRITICAL!, then he picked Makabe up and hit another massive lariat. Everyone
thought it was over, but Makabe kicked out. Henson was then able to hit a Blue
Thunder, but still Makabe kicked out. Soon after, Dan was able to apply the
Makabe Lock for the first time in the match, but Scott refused to tap. Henson
was then able to bust out the Colt .45, but further injured his neck in the
process, and took way too long before pinning Makabe, allowing him to kick out.
Henson then decided to end it and set Makabe up for the You Sunk My Battleship.
Makabe cut Henson off, however, and hit a Leaping Revolution DDT. Henson,
harnessing whatever power he had left, got up almost immediately, but was met
with a sick released German Suplex from Makabe. Makabe still couldn't get the
pin with that, so he just pain freaked out on Henson's neck, completely going to
town on it. After Makabe throwing everything he had at Henson, Scott got to his
feet and just stared at Makabe. Summoning one last energy burst, Henson came off
the ropes with a CRITICAL! attempt, but Makabe caught him with a German Suplex
hold, right on his neck, to get the three count and end this excellent match.
After the match, Henson stated that this is the last "Hot Shit" Scott Henson
match that anyone's gonna see. What does he mean? IS THIS THE END? IS IT?
Anyway, thanks to everyone who came out and made this show what it was. Fun
fact: we haven't done the appropriate research to confirm this yet, but we're
pretty sure this is most people that have competed on a VCW card (15).
- The next show is tentatively scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31.
Being show #101, the title will be "Scrambles 101." What's the card? You figure
it out.
<1/21/04 @ 2:46 AM PST>
- Number of shows until
Show #100: Zero. So we had Show #99 yesterday, entitled "Dr. Wagner Jr. or How I
Learned to Stop Worrying and Love VCW" (a takeoff on Dr. Strangelove, for those
not up on your movies). We started off with our second official UWFv Rules
match, as Jimmy McGimmick took on Daniel Makabe. McGimmick landed some big kicks
to both Makabe's upper leg and liver areas. Makabe was able to take McGimmick
down with two German Suplexes, which took a big chunk out of Jimmy's points.
When it went to the ground, McGimmick was able to control more often than not,
but couldn't sink any submissions. The finish came when Makabe went for a
rolling calf compression and McGimmick countered into a Jujigatame attempt, but
Makabe rolled that back into a Kimura of his own for the submission win. After
that was a battle of former VBW stars, as "The G.O.A.T." (Greatest of All Time)
James Blade took on Mercury. Blade dominated the match, but somehow Mercury
squeaked out the win with a rolling reverse cradle in what can only be described
as a major upset victory (isn't Blade still the VBW Champion?). Afterward, Blade
was thoroughly pissed, and Superkicked the hell out of Mercury. Next was the
self-proclaimed "Top Tag Team in VCW" of Three Times One Minus One (Shane Mondo
and Scott Henson). They took on Zeus McFly and a "dream partner" who turned out
to be The JXP of All Star Pro Wrestling fame. McFly was in the ring for the bulk
of the match, taking numerous double teams from Henson & Mondo. JXP was in for a
bit, and had some fun exchanges with both members of the opposing team, but he
seemed semi-uncooperative with his own partner, Zeus McFly. The end came when
Henson & Mondo hit their signature T-Gimmick, and Mondo pinned McFly while
Henson held off JXP. So 3x1-1 remains undefeated. Post-match, JXP verbally
berated McFly for losing the match, and hit him with the Pimp Drop (TKO). As if
that wasn't enough, he then Gorilla Pressed McFly over the ropes into the wall~!
Bad times for Zeus. The final match of the evening, was, as promised, a Battle
Royal. The winner of this would receive a match with Lenny D on Show #100 for a
Triple Crown Title shot (as Lenny has yet to claim his). The last three
wrestlers in the ring were Psychotic Kid, Scott Henson, and Daniel Makabe.
Henson and Makabe had been cooperating the whole match, and they were going for
an Inverted Golden Gate Spin on PK, but Henson released PK and clotheslined
Makabe over the ropes. Psychotic Kid then Superkicked Henson over the ropes to
win the Battle Royal and match for #1 Contendership.
- So on Show #100 (tentatively scheduled for Sunday, January 25 at 8:30 p.m.),
we'll have Psychotic Kid vs. Lenny D for #1 Triple Crown Contendership, "Hot
Shit" Scott Henson and Daniel Makabe will settle their problem from the Battle
Royal, hopefully VCW Canadian Champion Jason Drake will be back with a title
defense, and the same for VCW Tag Team Champions Foul Play.

- You may have noticed this
site wasn't here for a while. If so, you were right. The jerkoffs at
onedollarhost.net decided that the site was taking up too much bandwidth
(although "unlimited" bandwidth was promised) and then refused to respond to any
emails. So fuck them, we're on ixwebhosting.com now. So good times. The
multimedia isn't up yet, but it will be in a couple days.
- Had VCW Show #98 on January 7th. The first official UWFv match occured on this
show, as Daniel Makabe took on Yakuza J. For those who don't know the point
system, both men start off with 15 points, and you lose 1 point for a rope
break, 1 point for getting suplexed, 3 points if a 10-count has to be
administered. You either lose when you run out of points, submit, or can't
answer the 10-count. Yakuza dominated the early going, hitting a couple of nasty
German suplexes, whittling away at Makabe's points. Makabe fought back with some
Volk Han-esque submissions, forcing Yakuza to use some rope breaks. With Makabe
down to 1 point left, and having taken three German Suplexes, he managed to
escape from a Dragon(!) Suplex attempt by Yakuza and hit a sweet Flying
Jujigatame for the submission win. There were also two
Contenders Rules matches on the show. Jimmy McGimmick & Zeus McFly took on Yakuza J & Daniel
Makabe in a 2-of-3 Falls Match. McGimmick & McFly won in two straight falls,
with McGimmick tapping Makabe to a jujigatame and Yakuza to a rear naked choke,
respectively. The second had McGimmick take on Scott Henson & Zeus McFly in a
Handicap Match. Henson was able to score the tap with an achilles tendon hold.
Next up, Yakuza J fought Zeus McFly in a rematch from their Canada Day Massacre
match. If you recall, that match ended with a sick Top-Rope Northern Lights
Bomb. Yeah, this one STARTED WITH ONE. Don't ask me how or why, but it did.
Despite that, McFly got in more offense than he did six months ago, but fell
victim to an even sicker APRON NORTHERN LIGHTS BOMB to take the defeat. The main
event was Psychotic Kid vs. Scott Henson vs. Daniel Makabe in a 3 Way Dance. The
match started with an unbelievable (and fairly long) segment of three-way chain
wrestling. It was tight. After that, things kicked up a notch, and some nice
spots were hit by all parties. Psychotic Kid was trying to avoid Makabe's 19
Years Old (Cradle Tombstone) the whole match, as he has fallen victim to it
before. At one point, Henson got Kid in Blue Thunder position, but then
backflipped him onto Makabe's shoulders, allowing him to hit the 19 Years Old.
But Henson broke up the pin, of course. Henson and Makabe then fought to the top
rope, and it looked like Henson was going to go for You Sunk My Battleship on
Makabe, but PK threw Henson off the top, and went for the Psych Spike (Top-rope
Rana) on Makabe. Makabe blocked it and hit a crazy Top-rope 19 Years Old, but
when he went for the pin, Henson yanked him off, hit a huge CRITICAL! on him,
and pinned Kid to get the win.
- Our next show will be Monday, January 19th at 7:00 p.m. The curse of the
"Scramble that wouldn't happen" continues, as we again won't have the necessary
people. BUT, that ain't gonna stop us from having a BATTLE FUCKING ROYAL. Word.
<1/5/04 @ 2:47 AM PST>
- We were unfortunately unable to run a show this weekend, but our next show is confirmed for Wednesday, January 7th at 7:30 p.m. Ideally, we'd like to do the Scramble, but we may not have everyone present for it, so we may have to delay our string of supershows (except Show #100 three shows from now, of course, because that's pretty much going to be our 100th show no matter how you slice it). So if we don't do the Scramble, look for another booked-on-the-fly show, which usually turn out pretty good, actually.
