- We had our first show back after all the supershow craziness of early July. A thin-ish roster, but a good show nonetheless. Scott Henson seems to definitely have got his groove back, as he defeated Daniel Makabe and Big Al in a 3 Way after CRITICALing Al out of the ring after Al and Scott hit a Doomsday POUNCE on Makabe, which led to Henson pinning Makabe. Zeus took on newcomer HellHammer, who was inexplicably wearing the same Norwegian metal shirt as him. Zeus got the win, and HellHammer has vowed to get some more training under his belt before he gets back into active competition. Kingpin once again made the trek up north, and faced Chris Mason, who hit the world's craziest 630 on him, but it wasn't enough for the win. Moments later, Kingpin surprised Mason with the Fecalator, and got the pin in under 4 minutes. The main event was Ruckus making his first defense of the Triple Crown Title... wait, we haven't really covered the Triple Crown situation here, besides it being in the Results section, so let's do that quickly:
On Day "1" of Backyard Fest 8, Lenny D took on Russell Myers in a 2-of-3 Falls match which pitted the VCW Triple Crown Title against the GEW World Title. Russell Myers got the win in 3 falls, and ended Lenny D's 10 month title reign, which actually saw Lenny break down into tears after the match. So on Day 3 of BYF, VCW demanded some way to get their title back. Whlie the title was not scheduled to be defended on Day 3, it was agreed that if Russell Myers was pinned in the scheduled Russell Myers/Matt Schalk vs. Ruckus/Big Al tag match, then whoever pinned Myers would win the title. Big Al was taken out very early in the match, and Lenny D replaced him, hoping to win back the title that he had just lost. But it ended up being Ruckus who got the win over Myers with the Code Ruck, making him only the seventh different person to hold the VCW Triple Crown. Aaaaaanyway...
So it was Ruckus defending against Nick Price this past Saturday, with Nick of course having first crack at the title due to getting a clean over Ruckus on Day "2" of Backyard Fest two weeks ago. Lots of great back-and-forth between the two, and it almost looked like we were going have ANOTHER new champion when Price hit his fallaway slam to Northern Lights Bomb off the second rope. But Ruckus kicked out, and came back with a straight-up REDIC Top-rope Psycho Driver for his V1 defense. We're back this Sunday with another show, and possibly some matches on Wednesday as well.

- So we had us a Backyard Fest. Pretty sweet. Infinite thanks to anyone who spent the time and money to make the long trek out here, and we hope it was worth it for you. Speaking for all of VCW, we all had a fantastic time, and we're sure this isn't the last time we'll see everyone. The VCW cameraman cleverly left his camera at the ring, so match times and whatnot will be up in a couple days.

- VCW 6th Annual Canada Day Massacre, 7/1/05: probably the best single-fed show ever. Check the results for details.
- VCW travelled to OCW for Canada Day weekend with the intent to wrestle, but everyone was in too much pain and too high on Lenny D's homemade crystal meth to be able to do a show.
- 3 days until Backyard Fest 8. Dear God.
