- BUBBLE TEA MAFIA IS NO MORE! On March 12, in what was scheduled to be the final meeting for 12 months between the Miracle Violence Conspiracy and the Bubble Tea Mafia, Daniel Makabe attacked his own partner, Yakuza J, as the team was making their entrance. Makabe said he was tired of wondering whether or not Yakuza was going to be in Vancouver or New York, and that he had heard rumors of Yakuza leaving for good, and he was sick of it. He also said how good it felt beating up Yakuza in their European Rounds match the week before, as well as making cryptic comments about why Scott Henson's partner, Lenny D, wasn't there, and how Lenny would be a good partner for Makabe. Regardless, the scheduled tag match never happened, and Makabe challenged Yakuza to an Empty Area Last-Man-Standing match that very night. When it came time for the match, Yakuza and Makabe, who had been very successful tag partners for nearly two years, wasted no time in brutalizing each other, with both bleeding PROFUSELY by the end of the match. They brawled outside the building in the dark, hitting each other with anything they could find, and raking each other's faces into the chain link fence outside. Makabe hit a moonsault off the Coca-Cola machine in the building, but it wasn't enough to knock Yakuza out. The end came when they stacked two tables on top of each other on the floor, and Yakuza hit a top-rope superplex on Makabe, demolishing both tables. This risk didn't pay off as much as Yakuza had hoped, and the two went to a double knockout, leaving their issues unresolved. In the other match on the night, Nick Price took on Scott Henson in what was scheduled to be a non-title match, but Henson agreed to put up the Triple Crown on the condition that the match have a 15 minute time limit. The Triple Crown and Canadian champions went at it very evenly, with Price going for a lot of quick pins, knowing that he only had 15 minutes to get the job done. Price was actually in control as the final seconds were ticking down, but Henson was able to hold on to the 15 minute mark while in the Border City Stretch to force the draw. I believe this is the first VCW show where no one has won a match. The day before, on March 11, Drew Sarian appeared as the "Undrewtaker" (circa 2002), taking on Special K and Big Al, winning with a double chokeslam on both of them. Throw together at the last minute, Scott Henson took on Yakuza J, falling to a Telepathic Chokeslam (and a Telepathic Pin!). You and your magic, Yakuza J. In the one serious match of the evening, Canadian Champion Nick Price and PSYCH looked to settle their feud in a 2-of-3 Falls Match. PSYCH actually got the early advantage by winning the first fall, which was submissions only, after many tries at getting the Crucifix Crossface and finally locking it in. This fall saw numerous brilliant counters and reversals by both competitors, most of which have likely never been done before. The second fall, a no-DQ match, upped the ante, as we saw a chair come into play, with the climax being a top-to-floor moonsault by PSYCH, WHILE HOLDING THE CHAIR. Nick Price was able to win the fall and even things 1-1, after a top-rope Northern Lights Bomb and a moonsault. Fall three was a table match, and both men went immediately for the tables. After numerous reversals and near-misses, Nick Price countered an attempted top-rope rana through the table by PSYCH, throwing PSYCH off and forcing him to backflip through the table. Exactly one month after winning the Canadian Title, Nick Price has his first successful defense, and it was a good one. On March 17, we had our second even St. Patrick's Day show, the first one coming four years ago in 2002. Special K, who is legitimately Irish, wrestled as Irish K in a 3 Way with Big Al and Drew Sarian (as, appropriately, "Drew Finlay"), and picked up the win. Nick Price wrestled for the second straight week under a 15 minute time limit, this time against Daniel Makabe in a non-title match, and once again went the full time to a draw. Yakuza J took on two generations of Armstrongs, in Brad and his father Bullet Bob (who was anything but bullet-fast), and was able to roll up Brad for the win, while Bob was prematurely doing his celebration dance. In the main event, Scott Henson defended the Triple Crown against a returning Red Money, getting the win with the CRITICAL! for his V3 defense. On March 26, we realised that it had been about a year since we did our Tournament for Nothing, so we decided to up the stakes and do a Round Robin for Nothing... only not for nothing, but for a Big Turk, everyone's favourite chocolate covered treat. The Round Robin consisted of two blocks of three wrestlers, with the winners of each block going on to face each other at the next show. Block A had Scott Henson, Daniel Makabe, and returning from the Razor Ramon (NOT Scott Hall) training school, HG Yarder (formerly IQ Yarder). Block B had Nick Price, Zeus McFly, and Mercury. There was many a roll-up finish, as all the matches had 15 minute time limits, and people were going for more quick pins than under normal time constraints. Scott Henson won his block going 2-0 (Makabe was 1-1 and HG Yarder was winless), and Nick Price won his block, also going undefeated (McFly was 1-1 and Mercury was 0-2), so Scott Henson and Nick Price will face off again, either this coming week or the week after, not for any title, but for something much more important: a Big Turk.
- Big Al and Yakuza J are currently in Pennsylvania, having just wrestled at two XWA shows over the weekend. This past Saturday, Big Al was the last eliminated in a 4 Way Elimination Match with Rexx, Mike Phantom, and Tommy Flambeau. Yakuza J defeated the monster J Krypter with the NLB 2K6 in a "Battle of the J's." On Sunday, Big Al was defeated by J*Spyder with the Spyder's Web, and Yakuza J did not wrestle due to illness. They will both be back for this Saturday's show (April 1).

- So we got some shows to tell you about. On 2/18/06, Special K and Mercury formed a makeshift team as Team Ramrod, and took on the somewhat reluctant duo of Daniel Makabe and Ruckus. After an argument between Makabe and Ruckus, Special K was able to roll up Ruckus from behind for the win. Ruckus may still be shaken after his Triple Crown loss to Scott Henson the week prior. Nick Price took on PSYCH, the man he defeated at Survival of the Illest. Since PSYCH holds no wins over Nick Price, this was a non-title match (Price having won the Canadian Title the week prior), but maybe it should have been, as PSYCH got the clean win with a new move (a trend lately in VCW), a Wristclutch Burning Hammer, dubbed the PSYCH-o Driver. As a result, PSYCH is now the #1 Canadian Title contender. Chris Mason made his return after a 6 month excursion to Ontario, taking on Zeus McFly in his return match. Mason got the win after a Gettin' Ghetto off the ropes and a Top-rope Shooting Star Press. Mason hasn't had a match since his first match back, as he has a blood clot in his leg that is giving him trouble. 2/26/06 was a fairly small show with two tag matches. Scott Henson, in his first match back since winning the Triple Crown and injuring his hand, teamed with Big Al, a man he had quite a bit on heat with on his road to the Triple Crown, to take on Team Ramrod. Al looked to have it won with a spinebuster on Mercury, but Special K came out of nowhere with an Oklahoma Roll for the win, and Team Ramrod is 2 and 0. Next was the Bubble Tea Mafia of Daniel Makabe and Yakuza taking on Nick Price and PSYCH, who are due in upcoming weeks to face each other for the Canadian Title. Nevertheless, Price and PSYCH put their differences aside for the match and worked well as a team. The match went nearly 40 minutes and was one of the longest in VCW history. After they took Nick Price out, Makabe and Yakuza latched in a Double Armtrap STF on PSYCH, and with NOWHERE to go, PSYCH was forced to submit. The weekend of March 4th and 5th was a fun one, as Backyard Fest veteran Rigor Mortis of CWF (Tennessee) fame came up for the weekend. He took on Big Al the first night, getting the big win with a killer Cobra Clutch Suplex. On the 5th, he took on Yakuza J in a very good match, where he hit an early contender for VCW Spot of the Year: a top-to-apron-to-floor John Walters/Lungblower. Yes, it was as gross as it sounds. Yakuza fought back and hit the NLB 2K6, but miraculously Rigor kicked out. It took Yakuza J busting out yet ANOTHER new move, now having to resort to the advance-release 2K7 models, with the 2007 Escalade, which is a Wristclutch Steiner Screwdriver, finally getting him the win, and leaving Rigor Mortis 1-1 on the weekend. We thank Rigor very much for making the trek up and hope to see him again (would it be too silly to make a "we wish him the best in future endeavours" joke?). Other matches on the weekend saw Scott Henson's first Triple Crown defense, as it was defended for the first time ever in an Elimination 4 Way, with Henson getting the final pin on Nick Price with two giant CRITICAL!s to retain. Tag partners Daniel Makabe and Yakuza J took each other on in a European Rounds Concept Battle, demonstrating their vast knowledge of various wrestling styles, from 30's catch-as-catch-can to 70's puroresu to 80's NJPW/UWF to 90's RINGS to 90's All Japan. Daniel Makabe looked to have the match won in the fifth round, but after burning through every 90's All Japan finisher, he couldn't think of anything left to do, and the time limit expired. On the Sunday, Daniel Makabe, Mercury, and Scott Henson participated in a match of epic silliness, with wheelbarrow races, military press reps with Mercury, slow-mo wrestling, and Styles Clashes. What was supposed to be the Canadian Title match between Nick Price and PSYCH never got started, as the ref got knocked out, and the two brawled on the floor and in the ring. PSYCH locked on the Crucifix Crossface and wouldn't let go, requiring other wrestlers and staff to come in and break it up. Nick Price and PSYCH will meet on March 11 (today!) in a 2-of-3 Falls Match for the Canadian Title to settle their feud. Speaking of matches on March 11 that will be settling feuds (good segue!), the Miracle Violence Conspiracy of Scott Henson and Lenny will be taking on the Bubble Tea Mafia in a No-Time-Limit Match, in the last match that will see these two teams against each other for 12 months. Since 2004, these two teams are 1-1-1 against each other, so this match will finally settle things, and there's no chance of a time limit draw this time.
- We've added a Disabled List to the Roster section, so you can keep track of the various injuries and return dates of VCW members.
