- Prepare for an assload of new media. Are you prepared? Good, go get it.
<9/9/08 @ 2:18 AM PST>
- Our first show back is in the books. Daniel Makabe, originally scheduled to
wrestle back-from-the-dead Drew Sarian, was left without an opponent when Sarian
couldn't make it (hopefully he didn't die again), and Scott Henson quickly
stepped in. However, Henson met a similar fate to their January meeting, as
Makabe got the win, reversing a CRITICAL! Championship Edition into a Jorge
Clutch. Next up, new Quad Crown Champion Special K came out with more belts than
he could carry and mentioned some previous champions, but forgot Yakuza J on the
list of names, which Yakuza took issue with as he got into the ring behind
Special K and attacked him, inciting an impromptu non-title match. Special K
kicked out of a Northern Lights Bomb at 1, but then ran right into an Axe Bomber
for the pinfall... after just two minutes. Assuredly, this is one of the
shortest matches involving the champion on record. Yakuza now has pretty decent
grounds to lay claim to a title match.
- Speaking of title matches, we are three shows away from show #300, the
All-Star Tricentennial Spectacular, where both VCW titles will presumably be
defended. That's coming up the weekend of Sept. 27/28. If you're wondering where
the 9th Annual F*** the Censors is, which also happens around this time, there
ain't one. We figured we could ditch what is typically the weakest supershow of
the year and focus on the 300th Show, especially since [Show # Milestone] shows
are usually really good.
