- Two shows to report on, one of which was the biggest show of the year so far. First off, on August 5, Yakuza J defeated Blood Money in a non-title match. Next was Special K scoring a huge win over Scott Henson with the rarely seen Darkness Arrow. In the main event, Daniel Makabe defended the Canadian Title against Chicho, making his first in-ring appearance since F*** the Censors on Sept. 9, 2006. Chicho showed zero signs of ring rust, taking it to Makabe. At the end, Makabe had Chicho up for a powerbomb, but Chicho was able to resituate himself and hit the Canadian Destroyer from that position. This sent Daniel Makabe to the outside, and while he did in fact recover enough to re-enter the ring by the 17 or 18 count, he simply chose NOT to, and retain his title via losing by countout. On August 12, we were finally able to do our (42 days after) Canada Day Massacre. In a card that got switched around and shortened a fair bit, the opening match ended up being a Dogfight between Tony Baroni, Blood Money, and a returning CJ Williams. Baroni continued his dominance in the Dogfight realm, scoring the winning two pinfalls with the Baroni Buster (a standing version of his old Code Ruck) on Money and a crazy German Suplex Hold on Williams. Next was Special K taking on Nick Price, with these two going right at each other and Price going to work on K's arm. K was able to fight back, and after several nearfalls on both sides, K hit what looked to be on Oklahoma Stampede into a Fire Thunder, which was enough to get him the win. The main event was Yakuza J & Scott Henson vs. Daniel Makabe & Allan Creasy, where if either Yakuza or Makabe is pinned, they will lose their title to whomever pinned them. Obviously everybody was dead set on winning a title, and the two champions were dead set on not losing their titles, which resulted in one of VCW's longest matches, going just over 45 minutes. Makabe & Creasy may have had it won at one point after a Top-rope Footstomp by Makabe to Yakuza J's head, but Allan Creasy broke up his own partner's pinfall, as he wanted to be the one to win the Triple Crown, not Makabe. The Newton Boys quickly got back on the same page and continued to duke it out with both Yakuza and Henson. Late in the match, Makabe got taken out, leaving Creasy alone to eat an insane sequence of offence by Yakuza and Henson, starting with the KRS-1, then a running kick by Yakuza to a seated Creasy, causing him to roll back to a knee, setting up Henson's CRITICAL! Championship Edition, rolling him back AGAIN, leading to him being picked up and dropped head-first with Yakuza's 2007 Escalade, which got the win for the good guys.
- In that match, Daniel Makabe sustained a broken coracoid process in his shoulder as a result of a Backdrop Driver from Yakuza J, putting him out for 4-6 weeks. This unfortunately includes the upcoming BYEverything (BYG, BYE, BYF) from August 25 to September 1. He will still be travelling to the east coast for the shows (as will Scott Henson, Yakuza J, Special K, & Mercury), but will not be able to wrestle on them.

- This is the most optimistic beginning to a month in VCW since November of last year. We've got a place, we're running regularly, the biggest BYW event (possibly of all time) is coming up at the end of the month, and things are actually good for the first time in a while.
- With the new ring location, we also have some new names for some non-new people. Firstly, despite the shenanigans that led to it in Washington, Ruckus has indeed lost his name. He is now going by his government name, Tony Baroni. He may preface it with the nickname "Loud Noises", but that is as yet unconfirmed. Also, PSYCH has grown tired of his current moniker and will now be going by Young Codone.
- Fake Canada Day has been pushed back a week, and will now be on Sunday, August 12. The main event is confirmed: Yakuza J (Triple Crown Champion) and Scott Henson vs. Daniel Makabe (Canadian Champion) and Allan Creasy, whereby a champion will lose their title if they are pinned. Other rumoured matches include: Nick Price vs. Special K, Chris Mason vs. Young Codone, Tony Baroni vs. CJ Williams, and the Richmond Horticultural Society (Zeus McFly & Mercury) vs. Blood Money & Chicho.
- We've got our last show before Fake Canada Day in just a few hours from now, so check back soon for results. After Canada Day, we'll have one more show (August 19), and then be off for two weeks due to 5 VCW members (Yakuza J, Scott Henson, Daniel Makabe, Special K, & Mercury) flying to the east coast for BYEverything (BYG 5, BYE 8, and BYF 10 all in the span of 8 days).
