- Canada Day happened. Should we talk about that? Okay. As mentioned last time, Special K found himself in a match with Zeus McFly, only not for the Triple Crown, as McFly lost it to Drew Sarian the week prior. To make matters worse, it was a Falls Count Anywhere match, right up McFly's alley. When K found out about this, to say he lost his mind does not do it justice. Nevertheless, the two went at it street fight style, and despite taking a 420 Piledriver on top of the dumpster outside, K came back and hit a Death Valley Driver onto a PILE OF BOLTS for the win. Post match, Special K put Drew Sarian on notice that he was coming for him. Speaking of Sarian, his match with Yakuza J was next, and what was originally not a Triple Crown match when it was booked now was one. Yakuza, with the clear size advantage, came close to winning the title a few times, but after the ref was knocked down, Sarian tossed Yakuza one of the Triple Crown belts and dropkicked his knee causing him to fall face first onto the belt. Sarian then applied the Figure Four Leglock, and the recovering ref counted out the unconscious Yakuza J, giving Sarian his first defense of the title. Sarian claimed he will be holding the Triple Crown until the very end, regardless of what Special K said. The main event was set up the week prior in the Relevos Suicidas match: Daniel Makabe vs. Scott Henson in a Hair vs. Hair match, VCW's first ever. Perhaps the greatest and longest standing rivalry in VCW's history came to an end this day, as Daniel Makabe hit a Trapper Keeper Bomb on Scott Henson, went up top and hit a Top-rope Senton which completely splattered Henson's nose open. This only served to fire Henson up, as he immediately muscled Makabe onto the top rope and, for the first time ever on a fellow VCW member, hit You Sunk The World (heretofore only used on outside wrestlers, and gaining a 3 count every time). Taking a second to make the pin was perhaps just the second Makabe needed, as, amazingly, he was able to kick out just before the ref's hand dropped for the third time. Flabbergasted, but still fully determined in his resolve, Henson picked Makabe right up and hit Makabe with the hardest Critical! he's ever been hit with, and Henson made the pin with his nose pouring blood. Henson then went to work giving Makabe a much-needed haircut. When Henson had finished and was in the process of leaving the ring, Makabe called him back and offered him an unprecedented handshake, for real this time, and Henson accepted, bringing to a close a chapter of VCW that has been open almost since Day 1. The following week saw a very poor turnout on Saturday the 11th. Triple Crown Champion Drew Sarian was one of the only people there. He "graciously" agreed to a non-title match against an opponent of his choosing, who turned out to be Senor Cerveza (which is interesting for those who follow VCW, as there was a VICIOUS rumor that Sarian WAS Cerveza). Sarian controlled most of the match, but was surprised when he could not put Cerveza away with a Superkick. Sarian then went for a Batista Bomb, which Cerveza countered out of nowhere into a Darkness Buster(!) for the pinfall on the champion. Cerveza then immediately whipped his mask off, revealing himself to be Special K in disguise. K said he wasn't messing around when he told Sarian that he was coming, and now he has a non-title win to back up his claims. The next day saw the first 6-Man Tag in a long time in VCW. Canadian Champion Chris Mason, Scott Henson, and Yakuza J took on PSYCH, Special K, and Zeus McFly. In a fast and furious match, it came down to long-time rivals Chris Mason and PSYCH. PSYCH was able to impressively reverse Mason's Gettin' Ghetto Remix into a Reverse Rana for the pin. PSYCH then got on the microphone and said that since Mason offered him a standing rematch for the title, he was claiming it right now, so the bell rang and we now had a singles match between the two. PSYCH almost had the Canadian Title won with a Superkick to a chair which seemed to injure Mason, but Mason fought through and was able to pin PSYCH with the second Gettin' Ghetto Remix of the match, giving Mason his second defense of the title. The weekend of July 18 and 19, VCW travelled to Washington for BXCW's two-day "Nameless" supershow, as did BWA from California. The feature of the show was the "PAC-8" Tag Team Tournament, featuring teams from all up and down the Pacific coast of North America. The finals saw the Armani Male Syndicate (Seth Cage & Johnny Valentino) squaring off with Daniel Makabe and Special K. Though Makabe and K may have controlled the match for longer (perhaps equivalent to a longer "time of possession" in other sports), after Seth Cage suplexed Makabe into a pool apparently filled to the brim with poison, Johnny Valentino was able to nail the Goochback Mountain on Special K in the ring to win the tournament for his team. Cole Crazy defended his BXCW Title twice over the weekend, first against James Diesel in easily Diesel's best match ever, and then against Yakuza J, who despite his best Chong Li-isms, fell to Crazy's Spiral Tap. Scott Henson also teamed with Bobby Creed against I Gore and Craig Young in one of the fatter matches you're likely to see this year. It was a 2-of-3 Tables encounter, with the first fall coming via I Gore on Scott Henson via, what else, a Gore. The second and third came back to back when Bobby Creed ducked a flying shoulderblock through a table by Craig Young, which infuriated Young to the point that he immediately popped up and hit a flying front dropkick on Bobby Creed through another table for the win. Drew Sarian also got his second successful defense of the Triple Crown, retaining it in a 4 Way Elimination match with Matty Kincaid (his size), Jazon Kross (much bigger), and Damian Black (EVEN BIGGER THAN THAT). And that's all the news that fit to print.
- So what does that leave? That leaves our LAST SHOW EVAR, tomorrow, Sunday July 26 at 4:00 p.m. It's legitimately going to be one of VCW's best shows ever, and in 9 years and 340 shows, that's saying something.

- Happy Canada Day! If it's Canada Day, it can only be a few days until VCW's 10th Annual (few days after) Canada Day Massacre. But first, let's get to the last three weeks of shows since the last update. The morning of June 13, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Mitsuharu Misawa, died in the ring. As such, at our show later that day, Daniel Makabe and Yakuza J put aside their differences for one day and took on the Richmond Horticultural Society in a Misawa tribute match, with Yakuza J defeating Zeus McFly with a Tiger Driver '91, appropriately. Also on the show, PSYCH made his return to active competition after a 9 month absence, looking as crisp as ever defeating Scott Henson after countering an attempted Top-rope Blue Thunder into a Huracanrana. The next day, several VCW members traveled to Lynnwood, Washington for BXCW. However, before the majority of the VCW wrestlers there could have their matches, the show was shut down by the police. Oh, outdoor shows, how we missed you. The one VCW member who did get to wrestle was Daniel Makabe, who took on Lincoln McManus (nee Marcio de la Riva) in a rematch from their match from VCW in January, this time in a Submissions Only match so that Makabe couldn't sneak a pin out whilst in one of McManus's many submissions. This theory held true, as McManus was able to make Makabe tap to a Jujigatame after faking a Top-rope Kneedrop. On June 21, PSYCH was back in action, this time defeating Daniel Makabe with the Crucifix Crossface. His two high profile wins the past two weeks put PSYCH in line for some sort of title shot, which he would receive on June 28. Also on June 21 the Henson/Mason 2-of-3 Falls Match finally came to pass. Henson defeated Mason in the first fall, in a similar amount of time that Henson beat Mason in their last single-fall affair. However, Mason turned it on in the second and third falls, beating Henson with a Somersault Backslide and a Vertebreaker. So despite Mason's affinity for the "seven minute miracle" (his typical match length), he may end up doing better in the win-loss column if he goes longer. Or maybe NOT, however, as the very next week, Chris Mason got a Canadian Title shot against Mitch Deppen after Scott Henson pulled some strings after how impressed he was with Mason, and Mason defeated Deppen for the title in, wouldn't you know it, just over 7 minutes. The match was a heated affair, where it seemed like either man could win at any time, but Mason, known for being a loose cannon, hit Deppen with the Canadian Title belt, and then a ridiculous Spinning Doctor Bomb for the win. However, even in defeat, this may have been Deppen's best match ever in VCW. There was no rest for the wicked, as the very next day, Chris Mason found himself defending his newly won title against PSYCH, by way of PSYCH's earned title shot, as mentioned earlier. PSYCH, of course, has further issue with Chris Mason, as he Superkicked him while refereeing Mason's match against Zeus McFly at the Anniversary Show in April. Another fast paced, high impact match between the two saw Mason eke out the win with a Top-rope Michinoku Driver after reversing a Rana attempt by PSYCH (who was presumably trying to beat Mason the same way he beat Scott Henson two weeks earlier). One title match begat another, as Triple Crown Champion Zeus McFly defended against Drew Sarian, in only Sarian's second ever Triple Crown shot in his time in VCW. Sarian was his normal fun-loving self in the early stages of the match, but as things progressed, one could see him become more and more frustrated with his inability to inflict the amount of damage on McFly that he wanted to. The final straw came when Sarian was able to hit three Superkicks in a row on McFly, but was STILL unable to pin him. Sarian argued with the ref about the speed of the count, and then, without provocation, Batista Bombed the ref. Sarian then grabbed one of the Triple Crown belts and charged McFly with it. McFly, who had regained his bearings, was able to duck; however, Sarian then threw the belt at McFly, who caught it, and then was Speared by Sarian while holding the belt near his midsection. Sarian then pinned the near-unconscious McFly and used the ref's limp hand to make the count, and we had a new Triple Crown Champion (the 21st, and 13th different champion). And THAT wasn't even the main event. Why? Because Scott Henson and Yakuza J found themselves in the office when Daniel Makabe and Special K wandered in. The four of them saw on "The Big Whiteboard" that a tag team match was booked between Scott Henson & Daniel Makabe versus Yakuza J and Special K. These teams obviously seemed wrong, until they saw the stipulation: Relevos Suicidas. After consulting the Wrestling Encyclopedia, they discovered that regular teams are INTENTIONALLY split up, because the losing team must face each other afterwards (in this case, at Canada Day) in a Hair vs. Hair Match, which would be VCW's first ever. After a wild match in which 5 tables were broken, Special K and Daniel Makabe were the two left standing, and after reversing a Trapper Keeper, K hit a Darkness Buster followed immediately by an Inverted Darkness Buster for the pin on Makabe, perhaps getting some revenge for his "Love Him or Leave Him" singles loss to Makabe last month. At any rate, this means Daniel Makabe and Scott Henson will face off this Sunday in a Hair vs. Hair Match, the first of its kind in VCW. Henson lost their last match, the UWFv Triple Crown Match in April, as well as their four major singles matches before that, Henson's last major win over Makabe coming in a Triple Crown defense at the 4 Year Anniversary Show in April 2006. Makabe currently has Henson's number, and has vowed to continue it and in doing so, take Henson's hair. Two other matches are booked for Canada Day, and it is of note that both were booked several weeks ago: on June 21, Special K was at the show but had no one to wrestle, despite 4 potential opponents who should have been there. K went on a jowly tirade, focusing his anger on Triple Crown Champion Zeus McFly, who he felt should show up to every event. Shortly after, a match was made between the two for Canada Day; however, it will obviously no longer be for the Triple Crown, as McFly has lost it. Special K will undoubtedly not be crazy about this turn of events. Or he WILL be crazy, but in a bad way. Conversely, Drew Sarian vs. Yakuza J was booked for Canada Day several weeks ago, which now IS a Triple Crown Match.
- Lenny D & Chris Mason's father passed away today. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
