- Quickly, first off, let's cover February 21. Scott Henson beat Zeus McFly with the first-ever backwards facing You Sunk My Battleship, and Drew Sarian claimed his Triple Crown shot against Special K after successfully defending the Canadian Title against him last show, this time going down to Special K's rarely seen Darkness Arrow. Okay, that's that, now let's get to VCW vs. The World 6.
- When we had 19 fly-ins to VCW vs. The World 4, we thought that it was a ridiculous number and would never be touched. So much so, in fact, that we did a scaled-down version the next year for VCW vs. The World 5. But with 24 months rest, we figured we would have a go at another big show. Never did we imagine that we would shatter the 19 fly-in record with 25 and have one of the biggest shows ever. Now, are we going to go through every match? No, don't be crazy. We didn't do it for VVTW4, and we're not doing it now. You can see everything you need in the Results section, as well as the music videos and DVDs that are sure to follow. What we'll give you here is the NEWS going into and coming out of VVTW6. Namely, titles. First up, in the last match before intermission on Day 1, Drew Sarian defended his Canadian Title, which he has held since November 8, against Alex McConnell, a man who is undefeated in VCW, having won both his matches tagging with Denzel at VVTW4 and defeating Lenny D at VVTW5. He also scored a victory over Daniel Makabe at Heatfest in England this past summer. Despite Alex's record, you always have to favour the champion, so it came as quite a shock to the crowd when McConnell hit the Curb Stomp on Sarian and followed up with the Pyramid Driver to become the first non-Canadian to win the Canadian Title. In the co-main event, Special K was going for his V7 defense of the VCW Triple Crown against UK King of the Ring "Nature Boy" Steve Farrell, who is also undefeated in VCW, beating both Jimmy Starbucks and Scott Henson at VVTW4. In a night of surprises, Steve Farrell forced Special K to tap out to the Figure Four Leglock, despite Special K's holding out as long as humanly possible while in the hold. By way of ending Special K's 8 month reign, this makes Steve Farrell the third non-Canadian (after Russell Myers & Arbo) and the first non-North American to hold the VCW Triple Crown. At the end of the show, Scott Henson came out demanding a match with Steve Farrell in an attempt to get the Triple Crown back to VCW. Farrell accepted, and after throwing even MORE chops than their (longer) match at VVTW4, a total of 98, Steve Farrell's Figure Four claimed another victim. Post-match, Henson challenged Farrell to put up the Triple Crown in his tag match on Day 2, teaming with Jimmy Starbucks against Chris Frank and Senor Cerveza, at least giving VCW a 1-in-4 chance of getting their title back. In the tag match, the strong cocks and strong butts of Frank and Cerveza weren't enough to get it done, as Farrell tapped Cerveza to the Figure Four and planned to head back to England with the title. The main event of Day 2 was VCW vs. The World: The Match, pitting Scott Henson, Special K, and Chris Mason (Daniel Makabe and Yakuza J were scheduled to be in it, but both were injured Day 1) against Alex McConnell, El Diablo, and Tai (representing England, Spain, and Australia, respectively). Scott Henson, a desperate man trying to reclaim some of VCW's lost honor of the weekend, challenged McConnell to put up the Canadian Title in the match. McConnell accepted, on the condition that his opponents put something up too. Chris Mason stepped up and offered to put up his "new fuckin' haircut" and to shave it all off if he lost. El Diablo, a man with a similar haircut and outlook on life, made the same promise. Tai put up his return ticket to Australia (why he was carrying the ticket around with him while he was wrestling, we're not sure - must be an Aussie thing). Scott Henson and Special K, feeling they had nothing left to lose, both offered to put up their careers. So we had us a good old fashioned High Stakes match. After a crazy series of moves by everyone, Special K and Alex McConnell were left in the ring. After several attempts at McConnell's dangerous Pyramid Driver, Special K was able to reverse into what appeared to be an Inverted Darkness Buster, dropping McConnell right on his head, and securing the Canadian Title back on VCW turf. It wasn't the Triple Crown, but at least Special K was a champion again after losing the Triple Crown 24 hours earlier. On the heels of this victory, Special K called out Steve Farrell, saying he got one title back, and now he's going to get the other. Farrell accepted, but one punch with brass knuckles later, Farrell was still the champ. An injured Yakuza J rushed the ring and hit an Axe Bomber on Farrell, but when he went for his running soccer kick, Farrell reversed it into the Figure Four, gaining Farrell an unbelievable FOURTH title defense in 24 hours. However, just as Farrell was releasing the Figure Four, Daniel Makabe came off the top rope with a Diving European Uppercut, hit a giant Trapper Keeper Bomb, and pinned Steve Farrell as the crowd went wild, gaining Makabe an unprecedented fourth Triple Crown reign. This marks the second time that Daniel Makabe has rescued the VCW Triple Crown from foreign hands. Perhaps this time he won't immediately piss away any goodwill from other VCW members by swimming in the belts and picking a fight with Special K. So there's your news. Special K and Drew Sarian are champs going in, and Daniel Makabe and Special K are champs going out.
- A few shoutouts to various people. Tai and Siege: no one had seen much of your work, so no one knew what to expect. Siege, you proved yourself against Chris Frank, and then REALLY proved yourself against Zeus McFly in one of the sickest deathmatches ever. Tai, you were given ample opportunity to showcase your talents, being in the main event on both days, and you did not disappoint. Kootz, you would never know it to watch you wrestle that you have less than a dozen matches under your belt, especially by the way you contributed to the hottest of openers with Chris Mason and Cole Crazy. BXCW, you guys improve every time we see you. The all-BXCW tag on Day 1 was leaps and bounds better than the match that won BXCW Match of the Year last year, which shows how quickly they're improving. California, at VVTW4 you had to go just as soon as you came, but you got to make a better impact at VVTW6 and show that you're wrestling's best kept secret. Speaking of these two groups, Damian Black and Craig Young, you will undoubtedly finish 1 and 2 in the Breakout Star category for the awards for this show, as you two were the two most over people of the weekend. The British contingent, what can we say? When you cross an ocean for a show, you are truly a dude of the highest order. Wrenegade, barely anyone knew who you were going into the show, but you left everyone with a great impression of you as a wrestler and you as a person, and isn't that the most anyone can ask in this crazy mixed-up world of ours? King Rob Mendlan I, Big Al 201, and Mike Wyld, hopefully you have popularized the idea of flying in for hangouts rather than active wrestling, as that is probably what we'll be moving towards in the months and years to come.
- A big thank you to everyone who spent hundreds of dollars of their own money just to come to our show and help make it what it was. Thanks also to the whole VCW crew, as well as all the BXCW guys who drove up. We hope you had a great time both at the show as well as at meals and activities over the time you were here. We (VCW) certainly had a great time hosting you, and hopefully this isn't the last time we see any of you crazy kids.
