- We had our 300th show on September 27 with a grand total of one match. The
Richmond Horticultural Society of Zeus McFly and Mitch Deppen defeated the
unlikely duo of Daniel Makabe and Scott Henson after McFly used Deppen's
lifeless corpse, who was unfortunately the legal man, as a weapon to pummel his
opponents. HOWEVER, the 300th Show is not over. It is merely the first of 4
shows that comprise the 300th Show festival. This coming Saturday will have the
main event of Special K defending the Triple Crown (*see below) against #1
contender Yakuza J. There will be another big show (read: a show with at least
one big match) the next Saturday, October 18. The following weekend, October 25/26,
VCW travels to BXCW for Devil's Night, a two-day show. And we wrap up the
festival Sunday, November 2, featuring Senor Cerveza claiming a Canadian Title shot against Red
Money after winning Survival of the Illest.
*You'll notice we said Triple Crown and not Quadruple Crown. No, Special K did
not lose a belt. He is still the proud owner of both the original VCW Triple
Crown and the ESW World Heavyweight Title. The thing is, "Triple Crown" trips
off the tongue so much nicer than "Quadruple Crown." Plus there's all the
paperwork of officially changing the name to Quadruple and the title history
quagmire that results. So we're not doing it. Once a Triple Crown, always a
Triple Crown. It doesn't matter how many other feds' belts we assimilate Borg
style (and Special K WILL continue to carry 4 belts to further confound you),
it's the Triple Crown. Plus, making it the Quadruple Crown would be giving too
much credit to ESW, a promotion which is, frankly, run by monkeys.
